Word from my AD is that they have not received any blue dials for a Long Long time. Boutique manager confirmed it is exclusive.

Did you order yours from boutique too?
Govberg’s, an AP AD in Philly thought it was boutique exclusive, but did not confirm.

Yes, I ordered mine from a boutique.

Congratulations! Excellent choice. I'm trying to find one myself but no luck here in Toronto.

Boutique is your option. 450 blue dial should be easier to source as compared to 400

Easier as in "still basically impossible, but not quite as impossible" or easier as in "they might have one in stock or be able to get it without much wait"?

Congrats!

Appreciate your post as I’ve been thinking of adding a 15400 but haven’t tried on a 15450. It appears from your pics to wear larger than expected by its 37mm size? My 40mm Rolex pieces fit perfectly to my wrist whereas my offshores border as too big though I still love them and they are comfortable to me. Does the 15450 wear similar to the 40mm Rolex models as was mentioned by someone on the thread?

Thanks and congrats again on your wonderful acquisition!

Thanks!

15450 does wear larger than its expected 37mm but does not wear the same when compared to the Subs. You will noticed that 450 is slightly smaller. It’s probably a visual thing as Subs are rounded vs 450 Octagonal shape, 4 corners are sliced off.
15400 is definitely bigger vs Subs.
IMO 450 is closer to Sub than a 400.

Congrats !!!
Watch looks amazing on you — at 6”, the 15450 looked like a no brainer for you.

For those of us on the cusp with 6.5” wrists, and with weirdly shaped tapering wrists into bigger forearms, it’s a much tougher choice.
Lol

Great! Thanks for your insight. I will just need to try one on and see how it feels and fits.

Wrist size, diameter of case? OK, my 2 cents. I have smaller sized wrists. For me a good fit is in the 33 to 39 mm range. That’s why I completely enjoy my 1995 D, RO 14800ST logging in at 36 mm.

It looks great on your wrist. The 400 is a bit large for my tastes as well.

No, it wears substantial smaller then a 14060m. I'm going to try on the 15400 next month and if ok i'll flip my 15450 because i keep thinking its a little to small for my '7inch wrist. Looking at it from top to bottom it looks ok but in the mirror it get lost on my wrist. Also with all 20 links used it does get tight on hot days leaving marks on my wrist.

I always come back to this piece. Such a beauty! I have been wanting one. Actually, the one i wanted is the 15202 but when i put it side by side to this beauty, i like this dial color and tapestry size much better. Now, i don't know whether i still want the 15202 because of the hype or because i like it better than this model. I really do like the movement finishing on the Jumbo better though. After looking for a jumbo at MSRP for a while, i gave up and was able to put down a deposit on the 15450 at the boutique with estimated delivery date in Sep / Oct 2018

Love how vivid the dial is on the 15450 compared to 15300

I made the same decision.15450 is the way to go.
Maybe is age related, but big watches do not seem that appealing to me any more.
6.7 inches wrist.
Enjoy,in good health.

Congrats OP!

Wonder if you can share with us pics of both the 400 vs 450 on your wrist after weeks of back and forth.

I am 3 month away from a call for my /400 (Black Dial). Although the /450 would definitely fit my wrist just fine, I found it did wear a little small. Also the /450 does not come in Black Dial, which is what I want. The problem I have is o have never tried the /400!!!

My wrist fluctuates depending on time of day and temperature between 6.75” and 7”.

Hi, I did not have a picture of the 400 on my wrist partly bcos it wears too big on my 6” wrist :) and I did not bother to snap a pic
IMO the 400 should suits you better on a 6.75-7” wrist.

Look forward to your acquisition.
