Thanks! I never got the chance of seeing this dial in person before ordering, but I’m so happy that I did go for this color. I love it, it’s the perfect tone so not too dark or too light. It just looks so great!!

I got back from the road trip this friday and today I finally had some time to take some more photos of the watch. After a few more days with the watch I couldn't be happier with it, the finish is incredible [even after the few tiny scuffs I've put on the bracelet]. Like I said previously, at times it feels kinda tight but I don't think it's worth getting the 1.5 link since it feels like a great fit most of the time. And I can just order the link anytime in the future anyways so I'll just wait for now. Anyways, as promised, here are some more photos:

Thank you!! It’s hard to photograph, but I think the third to last photo shows the color closest to what it looks like in person.

The watch looks great. I'm really surprised it feels tight to you at times, as this picture shows a fair bit of slack available. Does your wrist swell that much at times, or do you prefer to wear your watches with a bit of a hanging gap at the clasp?

Thanks! I think maybe it was that the weather in LA and other places I visited before I got back to SF was much warmer, so maybe that made the watch feel a little tight. As it is right now I can barely fit the tip of my index finger underneath, which I think is tight enough where it won’t be moving around a ton but loose enough to not be completely unmovable. So like I said, it was probably the weather of the first two days or so, it feels much better now!

I still can’t believe I’m writing this but after months of trying to decide what to buy, and then months of waiting, this Monday I picked up a beautiful ruthenium dial 15450. I tried on a lot of different watches and decided the RO was the one in my budget that I liked the best, the 15400 was way too big for my tiny wrists but I think the 15450 is a perfect fit.

I picked it up from the Beverly Hills boutique, who have been great with me from the start. They said they haven’t got any travel cases in a while or I would’ve gotten one, but I did get a nice orange polo shirt. I was also told that they’re actually all out of ROs for the year, all the ones that they have coming are spoken for and they’re not taking more orders for the year, which surprised me. They also said that this dial is now also one of the harder ones to get, so I’m super happy I was able to order when I did so that I was able to get the one I wanted.

I’m actually still in the middle of a road trip driving through California so I haven’t been able to take any well thought out photos of the watch and the box, but I can’t make this post without at least one photo so here’s a wrist shot, I’ll post an update here when I’m home and can take some more photos, hopefully this Sunday.

Hadn’t been that long but I’m already super impressed. This watch is unbelievable, I love everything about it. I think there’s a tiny dust spec on the dial (white mark on the top left corner of the square on top of the 10 marker), but it doesn’t bother me enough to lose the watch for however long it takes to have it checked out, especially since I just got it. Hahaha The finishing on the watch is amazing, and I’m so happy with the ruthenium dial, which I never got to see in person before ordering, it really is the best color for me.

I’m gonna keep wearing it like this for now but I haven’t decided if it’s ok or if it’s maybe a little tight, I might try adding back one of the two links they took out at the boutique, and if that doesn’t work I might have to order the 1.5 link… Do I have to take it to a watch store to get it sized (couldn’t go back to AP since they’re not in sf, would probably go to the PP AD), or is it easy enough to just do it myself?

Not sure what else to say right now other that I feel super lucky to be able to get this watch as my first real watch, very happy to share with you all as well!
Sir,

That watch is stunning! and it looks like a perfect fit for your wrist size. I am waiting for mine to arrive from the boutique. I chose the blue dial. However, that slate dial is incredible. Enjoy your beautiful watch.

Best

Thank you! I‘ve definitely been enjoying it so far, never saw the ruthenium dial before getting it but I’m super happy with my choice. I still haven’t seen the blue in person, but from the photos online it also looks like a fantastic choice. It’ll be here before you know it, feels like yesterday when I had just ordered it and was months away from arriving hahaha

When I ordered it there was a (short) waiting list so I didn’t even try to get a discount, since I knew they don’t have the need to give discounts when there’s people waiting to get the watch. But then when I picked up my watch I actually overheard a client asking about a discount on a different model, I think it was the ROO, and he was told that they (Beverly Hills boutique) don’t give discounts of any kind for any piece. (Or at least that’s what I was able to understand)
My brother just got a blue dial 15451ST for his wife with a very healthy discount from an AD. I was very surprised with the discount given, perhaps 15451 is not as popular.

Beautiful watch - I think all the Royal Oak models wear larger and would definitely look at the 37mm.

Definitely wears larger than the size would suggest! When trying to decide what to buy I tried on a ton of watches, as an example the Aquanaut and the Daytona are two that I really liked the size of, they both seemed to fit very well on my wrist. While the 15400 is technically closer in size to those, it looked WAY larger. But the 15450 looks much closer in size, I really like how it fits.

Thank you! Here are some photos of the polo, it’s very nice quality and it’s a great color, although it might look a little different on the photos…hard color to photograph!

The AP Boutique sent me a black polo shirt just like that, along with a white golf hat, back in March or April while I was waiting for my Jumbo.

And I did also get a traveling case this week (along with the new catalog), but it's one of the cheaper golf club head type, not the nicer brown leather(?) boxes. But it will do.
