Looks good on a big wrist. I’ll stick with my 40mm Mark 18.

Looks great! Excited to see these are showing up in the US.

Nice! It is still on my radar. The black dial with leather strap and add a rubber strap

My feelings on the history of this watch aside (see my other thread, no need to rehash here), I tried it on and was surprised how much I liked the way it looked at 43mm. I think it's further proof of what I've come to believe: Watches work best in the size they were designed to be.

My Mk XVI, at 39mm, feels too large, with too much dial, likely because it came from a stretching of the Mk XV (itself somewhat of an expanded Mk XII).

Still too big for my taste, but worked on my wrist surprisingly well given my recent penchant for downsizing (40mm Rolex down to a 36).

This watch is very frustrating to me... it's everything I wanted from a Mark XVIII replacement:
- modern inhouse movement with 60h PR
- diamond shaped crown
- no awkward position for date window
and something extra with the quick change system.

but then... it's 43mm

Edit:
While, this is good update IMHO for the Big Pilot, I'm wandering how are they going to dumb down for a Mark XIX: no quick change system, no see through case back, still a Sellita based movement?
I suspect that the eventual Mk XVIII replacement will be based on the current Spitfire (down to 39mm and newer in-house movement, but classic pilot dial).

I think that probably was eliminated since it won't have the BP46's very impressive week-long reserve. I think a subsidiary seconds hand would have been better in terms of maintaining the look and adding some complexity to the it (esp. w/o a date on there).

I'm anxious to try this one on in person to see how the size works on my smallish 6.7" wrist. The 46mm Big Pilot is way too big and I don't like the date on the Mark XVIII and I like the lack of a date, the crown, and the display caseback on this new model, so it might be the one for me if it fits. I wish they had gone with blued hands but I can live with the silver ones.

My wrist is just a shade under 7in and what I can tell you is this: When I tried it on, I thought it looked like a properly fitting large watch. To put it another way, it looked like I was wearing a pair of really baggy pants that I'd bought in the correct size, instead of getting a baggy pants look by buying regular pants four sizes too large.

Tried it on the other day, at the same time as the BP 46. My wrist size is 7".

Loved the fit of the 43! It looked great on the wrist. I could pull off the 46 as well but the 46 was very "visible" and "noticeable" on wrist. It has the potential to attract the wrong kind of attention in most big cities. 43 was more comfortable on the wrist and can slip under a cuff.

AD took 11% off list price without asking btw.

Watch looks great…just not sure about the pricing. Is it really as nice as a Santos?

Thanks for the feedback. I don't like large watches but because this is a pilot's watch, I can live with the large size. As long as the lugs don't overhang my wrist, I'd be fine with it.

Tried this on. Really like the fit for someone who thinks the 46 is to large but loves the design
