I was near the boutique on Friday and coincidentally walked past.
Turns out it was opening day! Walked in randomly. It was a nice little boutique with a very friendly team. As another sign from God, the exact model (and the only model with the blue dial that they had in stock) was available on the day.

So I did what I had to do.

Early impressions: The watch is beautiful. It looks stunning and is well finished, with a lot of attention to detail. Well designed overall and a good size (for a larger wrist), with many clever features that are lacking with AP and PP. The blue dial is absolutely stunning and shifts from a lighter, metallic looking blue to a deeper dark blue depending on the lighting. There is a certain charm about VC that you understand when you see the watch in person. I'm pretty chuffed to own watches from the entire Big Three/Holy Trinity now.

It seemed a bit... flimsy to me. Just a little spring-loaded hook that looked very thin that hooked onto the little bar between the lugs. It just didn't seem incredibly robust. I'm someone who would be swapping between bracelet and rubber strap fairly often I'd say, not to mention I'm worried about flex and twisting/turning during daily wear.

Any issues? Has the quick release felt like it's suffered at all over time of ownership?

Also is anyone getting any discounts on these? In Toronto the dealer is a boutique so it's not easy to get discounts unfortunately.
I’ll be there tomorrow ... begging for one

Chuffed is Australian for happy and satisfied is probably the easiest way to put it :)

And yes, it's a beautiful watch. I need to get to that boutique the next time I'm in the office

I like that dial design.

Patrimony is less boring than Calatrava.

No discount on RRP. Didn't see one, but they can probably get it in.

I did and they are fantastic watches I didn’t get to see the blue dial, but the SA told me it would be 6 weeks to have one in. I’m pondering my next move ...

What’s your guys opinion of the Dual Time variant vs the Chrono (both in Blue version) Ref 7900v?

I really like the VC chrono but the white background on the date window annoys me.

I own the reverse panda Chrono and absolutely love the watch although I realize it’s not the blue one. Excellent craftsmanship.

This watch in 39 or 40mm would be my grail. Perfect watch but at 43mm it is too wide, thick and heavy for my skinny wrist.

Is this way too big for my 6.5 inch wrist?

It is definitely on the borderline. I have a 7 1/4 inch wrist and it fits me well but it is very flat and very wide.

Looks ok in that shot. But looking from above on your wrist, it will appear big. I have a 6.5 inch wrist too and couldn’t get comfortable with the large sports watch look. I ended up moving it but I miss it. If you are comfortable in wearing a large sports watch that will occupy all of the top of your wrist, you will be ok.

Not at all. It looks great. It is a sports watch. It is meant to be bold.
