Too big??

Not used to a 44mm. Love the watch, but fear it’s too big. Love to get your input!

Panerai 311 FYI. Beautiful, but maybe too big?

I have a 317, and previously had a 275, so I think the 311 is a great reference.
Not small watches.

That watch looks fine on your wrist, especially since the pic appears to be taken at close range.
Panerai's are supposed to wear big.

Besides the diameter, make sure you're OK with the thickness.
The dome crystal adds a lot to the height.

Go get a custom strap. Preferably a 145/90 to wrap around that puppy.

Perfect. Panerai is suppose to look a 1/2 size larger. It’s dial is also larger than other watches giving it a larger but more legible appearance.

I would also like to say that PAMs are meant to wear just a touch bigger than normal. That being said. The watch looks perfect on your wrist...

i would make sure its comfortable first. There are big watches that are easy to wear. if its comfortable then go for it.

It looks great. Used to have the 317 and I loved it! You might have to wear it a little higher on the wrist, or it maybe the angle of the photo as the crown guard could hit the back of the wrist.

Like eonflux said this particular reference along with the 317 and 275 are tall due to the domed crystal.

I love the distortion you get from the curved sapphire so well worth it to me.

Panerai is worn to be little bold and big and that's perfect for your wrist!

Looks great. You will get used to the size shortly. I have a 233 and it is one of the favs in a fairly large collection.

Forgot what it looks like, all that matters is what it feels like.

Is that how far up on your wrist you plan to wear the watch? If not, position it a bit further back to help visualize. Also, I find that it's better to roll the sleeve up to visualize the size with the rest of your forearm.

I know I'm being technical and picky here, but I was in the same boat when shopping for mine, and I wanted to be 100% sure I didn't find it to be too large, so I tried it on with a t-shirt, various points of my wrist that seemed more comfortable, etc. I personally find most watches, and in particular, panerai, to be more comfortable when sitting a bit further from the hand so that crown guard doesn't restrict movement.

Goodluck! It's a beautiful watch.

Thanks, all!! I'm getting used to it. I just love the design.

@Rambo99 - I have tried a 42. I think I would've gone that way, if I could find one with chrono and the domed crystal.

@cts - YES...I love the 275! In a way, I think it'll have more versatility with straps, etc.

@mg18 - Thanks! I'll do that. I'm coming from a 39mm Speedmaster, which I wear super loose. So, this is a bit of an adjustment. What you're saying makes a lot of sense.
