Bought My Dad A Superocean II 44!

My brother and I bought my dad the Superocean II 44 for Fathers Day, on Tuesday. We couldn't wait to give it to him, so we gave it to him that same afternoon without even wrapping it.

When I went to the AD, I was really looking at getting the 42, but when I saw them side-by-side, the 44 was the obvious choice! It even looked better on me than the 42, and I'm on the slender side of the spectrum. My dad's forearms look like Popeye, so he probably could get away with the larger 48mm Breitlings. I was actually surprised at how small the 42 looked.

He loves it, though he has never been a "watch guy." A family friend is a pilot and has long lamented over not owning a Breitling, so my dad is anxious to show it to him!!!

Thanks Jack! I found my grandfather's golf shoes a while back, and my dad really seemed to enjoy seeing them again. He mentioned that he wished he had something of his dad's aside from the golf shoes and some old suits, which got me thinking about buying 2 watches that I could pass down to my boys (age 6 & 2). The ones that have really struck me are unfortunately SS Rolexes, so I'm just waiting for the right deal. I'm in no hurry!

I will say that after my trip to the AD, I am really starting to like the Avenger II GMT with the black dial! I travel a lot for work, so the GMT function really appeals to me.

That is what a watch can do to a person.

The Avenger II GMT is my one Breitling, and I love it. Not as tall as many Breitling sports watches, I have the blue dial on a rubber strap, perfect for the summer.
