Who is waiting for their iPhone XS?

Gotta admit, the new iOS 12 is nice even though the Measure app is inaccurate, but still cool to have.

So they still don't include a fast charger in the box of a €1600 phone.... Wow...

I guess for a guy that uses inch it's good enough.

I wound up giving in and pre-ordered an Xs. My previous phone made it 3+ years until I left it on the coffee table, where the cat decided to puke a hair ball up right into the ear speaker

I just got billing/shipping confirmation from VZW on Max.

I’m hoping VZW implements the 600Mhz band, should be a great way to extend coverage on the bay (in low coverage areas).

What is everyone doing for cases? I ordered a TUMI folio style flip wallet case, a tempered glass front screen protector, and considering a tempered glass rear protector.

My 6S will do until it literally cannot he used for the most basic function. £1000+ for an iPhone? No thanks. Lol. That’s a lot of money just for a phone. Regardless of what it’s capable of. It’s still a lot of money for something that in just a few years will be replaced by the next £1k + phone. Lol

I thought that too, but I bet it is the piece of tech you use the most. Or at least it is the tech I always have on. Estimated per diem average phone 12-14 hrs vs computers (combined) about 8 hrs, ipad 3 hrs, tv 3-6 hrs, stereo 1-3 hrs, car 2 hrs.

In terms of making money computers and phone are my 2 primary tools.

True and I’m not denying that for one second. But surely many will agree it’s alot of money for what the device actually does. We survived just fine with Nokia’s, right? Lol.

My nokias were brilliant very tough phones, and part of me agrees with you. I think phones are a lot of money and it is a big step up from my SE which in turn was a jump from my refurb 5s, and I have seen people destroy or lose them so I am 100% insuring it.

I guess I am justifying it by finding that I use lean on my phone for more and more functions. it allows me to get away from my desk and network (and etc) while still getting push emails, uploading and executing documents, examine/change websites, check dashboars and analytics, ssh, ftp, rdc, facetime, mobile conference with screen sharing, hotspot, deposit checks/bank and etc.

Tbh, my iPhone 4 was probably the best phone I ever owned. I made a monumental mistake by upgrading its software to the most current it could support and in turn screwed the pooch, because it slowed the phone down and made it very annoying to use. If I could find a NOS iPhone 4 I would buy it in a heartbeat! Lol. Just download a handful of apps I need and never update it. Lol

...and none of your Apps would work after the developer dropped support the expired iOS level...

Apple does make some compelling branding that causes us (yes, guilty as charged) to rush to buy.

I just picked up the Xs.
I really like it. Big upgrade from my 7 Plus.
Similar size screen in a smaller housing.

Well some quick delivery work by Apple and a new XS-Max hit my doorstep Late Monday. Setup went smooth and some new features were less stellar.

The hyped Photo Depth of Field control turns out to be a digital Bokeh control. In other words the marketing folks don’t know photography. But it does work, just doesn’t do foreground depth - only controls background sharpness/“blurriness”.

The Podcasts aren’t loading to the Apple Watch as advertised. That is a small one but appears to be unique issue with the new Watch OS4.

Tapatalk needs an update as OS12 has broken scrolling while composing.

But I’d give the launch a 90%

As

Is anyone having problems with the iphone XS on the Verizon network with WIFI and LTE issues? I heard that Apple used Intel modems in all of the Iphone XS.

I was wondering if the Mods could change the title of this thread to iPhone XS? Thanks

Just had it for the first time tonight.
Could access internet if not on WiFi. LTE was useless the whole time I was at the restaurant.
Works fine once I left.

Oh wow! That's disappointing. That shouldn't happen with a brand new phone.

Oh that's good. Hopefully inside cell reception will be improved with a software update.
