I’m not really needing the larger screen but of course it’s nice to have. Really just missing the touch. We shall see

Face ID is starting to be more of an annoyance rather than a convenience. Doesn't work when I'm in bed with my face partially buried in the pillow (happens more often than you think), and I've had it fail on me in good lighting about 1 in 8 times. Touch ID was a lot more reliable for me.
The size is perfect for me though. I had a 7 Plus and became accustomed to the larger screen, but found it very cumbersome to hold in my small hands. X is much better proportioned. |

Life Hack:
Samsung S8 is a better more versatile phone. I made the switch when realized Apple's innovation died with Steve Jobs...... Also since Google creates and owns Android - Google Maps works so much better on their platform. |

I gave in and finally got the X today. Very happy with it.

Dropped my 3 year old 6s Plus in the toilet over the weekend. Picked my X up yesterday and although I don’t think it’s anything groundbreaking, I’m happy with it. Had some issues restoring the backup when I got home but as usual, Apple were brilliant. I’ve never experienced bad customer service from them in 6 years.

I finally bit the bullet and traded up from my 5s. I’m not a tech nut and don’t generally feel the need for the latest and greatest. However I do have a new-ish, small child. The camera is a revelation and the bokeh it can create (yes I know it’s a fake, digital effect) makes for great looking pictures of the little one despite the fact that I am and always have been appalling at taking pics. For me, the camera alone makes it worth the wonga.

I have an X since launch day, just can’t deal with the plus sizes...
My only issue is facial rec, it works perfectly, but if your off axis, it hesitates then offers the pin option. That’s the only issue I have.

My phone has been flawless with the face recognition, even in low light. Absolutely love the no home button and multitasking. It’s a very fluid and natural user experience. Got the 256GB (my 7 plus was 256), and after restore I have half left. I personally feel the iPhone X is what the 3 was back in the day. Back to basics and intuitive actions. Perfect size. Couldn’t be happier with it. Also, the speaker and general phone call loudness is hugely improved. My 7 plus was a horrible phone. Huge. But did everything else well. This X, marks the spot!!

Hate the whole concept of facial recognition.
Anybody, including cops can take your phone, hold it to your face and open it. No thanks. I’ll take the extra half second to type a 4digit code. |

Money to burn it’s the phone to have. Regular guy? Keep your 7.

You have the same problem with any biometric. If you are with the phone, you can be coerced to open it. The six digit pass code won’t help with a gun to your head, but IIRC, you can opt to use it instead of facial recognition.

There is a FaceID setting you can activate so keeping your eyes closed will defeat that concern of yours. But disabling FaceID and tapping the code (now 6digits) is also an option. That passcode is hackable but a remote chance. FWIW, FaceID biometrics are far more secure than TouchID (fingerprint) was. The chance that a random person could spoof TouchID to unlock your iPhone is about 1 in 50,000. The chance that a random person in the population could look at your iPhone X and unlock it with their face is about 1 in 1,000,000. * * Stats from Phil Schiller at Apple. I went from the iPhone 7 to the X and really like the X. As others have mentioned, the Face ID can be spotty at times but other than that it’s awesome.

Love the size of the X. The face rec is not as good as the thumb print was. Like others I don’t want the plus size. I use the 4 digit code to open it several times a day.

Still loving my X and I think it is the best phone on the market. As long as Apple keeps it up, I'll never be tempted to switch back to Android.

Found one little issue for any car guys here, if you use an Escort 360 max, the facial rec sets off the unit, in my car the phone mount faces the escort. Had to turn off FR... but fr works for everything else once the phone is unlocked.

Skip the 8 !! Don't do it ! I've just got one and it's a total failure of a phone. So many bugs and it's as slow as my SE I've replaced it with, except of course for battery life. Very disappointed

Mine sucks. Had it about a week. Upgraded from a 7. People can't hear me when I talk, I drop a ton more calls and the battery drains like my old 7. I am very disappointed.

I went from a 5s to an X. So far, it’s been my best phone of all time. Waterproof and Camera features are my favorite.
