Eleven James “watch and earn” issue

Bought a watch from them in March...very good price.
I had them keep it in “rotation” to earn money on it. They sent me 2 months of payments then stopped.

No answer to phone or email.

I called my rep and he was no longer with the company.
Turns out they didn’t get their last round of funding and they might be shutting down.

I have the box and papers to the watch, I do not have the watch

I’m wondering if anyone else is in a similar situation.

Oh no. Total bummer. I just looked at their website last week as there was a thread about leasing. Good luck!

Good luck to the OP.... not sure where they are located, but might be worth swinging by in-person to get some clarity on the situation?

How did you find out they didn't get the latest round of funding and might be shutting down? Nothing in Google says this (maybe I'm searching the wrong keywords)

Was told by my former rep.
Also an email apparently out to people stating they were “moving offices “ and couldn’t ship for 2-3 weeks along with the most recently posted google reviews
Makes me believe the rep was telling the truth. The last 6 reviews on google are one star and all posted with the last month . All telling a similar story of no response or inventory “optimization” .

Interesting - I was a member for a short time until recently. All in the span of about 60 days my rep quit (and he was actually really good) and the replacement rep went totally radio silent. Never heard from him even upon reaching out multiple times. Finally I got fed up and sent my cancellation through their website and I heard from him that day. They cancelled my membership without so much as a "we'd love to have you stay, is there anything we can do?"..... wonder if that was related.

I'm sorry to hear of this unfortunate situation.

If I understand correctly, you own a watch bought through this company and instead of keeping the watch, you allow the company to hold it for you until you are ready to wear it again and in the mean time you allow the company to rent out that watch to others, so that you and the company can realize a profit from the rent.

Is that correct?

Sounds about right. Similar to what people do with yachts.

Yes, They also offer a service where you send them a watch you own already and they rent it out for you, thereby making money off it.
They insure and guarantee along with service once per year.
It was an interesting concept and I was going to send them some more watches if it worked out. The watch I purchased fortunately wasn't over $2000 used and was actually very well priced for the market. I have the box and papers, What worries me is they have gone completely silent, so If someone has it maybe they feel there's no need to send it back. No email replies, no phone number that answers.

Hmmmm it seems their former "head curator" now works for this "stockx" company which, I believe, was the one trying to do some odd GMT raffle where you enter your CC info and if you win they charge you MSRP for the watch. Or something...

uh oh, that's no good.
They haven't tweeted in a while either:
https://twitter.com/elevenjames?lang=en

Keep hammering their social media, someone should be getting those alerts. Hope someone responds and returns your piece (and everyone else's!)

If you're in Northern NJ it may be worth the trip into NYC to see if anyone answers the door too

Curious - what kind of returns were you receiving, net of admin fees (if any), if you don't mind sharing? Do they guarantee these projected returns (i.e. what if nobody wanted to rent your watch)?

I thought it was a weird concept from the start, this news doesn't surprise me at all to be honest.

I wanted to wait until I actually got the watch back before I posted, but I was contacted early last week and was told my watch was back in their possession. As soon as it was polished was going to be sent out, and I received back today.
I guess they don’t want word getting out that the company is folding so that people can return the watches.
