What I love about this story is he clearly had no chance but left the dealership driving a Porsche. He must be intelligent to accomplish that.

He's stupid. A short joy ride that ends up costing him untold consequences. Maybe jail? Maybe ankle bracelet? Community service? How about the mark that goes permanently on his record. How would you like to have to explain this when the subject comes up. Wonder what other things he just might lose out on for this stupidity?????

As a supervisor (myself) you might be surprised how hard some people or what lengths people will go to in order to get out of WORK.

I have to imagine the amount he wrote that one check for alone puts his offense in a much worse category. Had it been for a few hundred that's one thing, but for the amount he wrote it for I have to believe that carry's a more severe penalty.

Thinking now the fact that he actually was able to drive away might have resulted in even worse consequences than if he had not been able too?

But either way you look at it certainly isn't worth the consequences whatever they maybe that he certainly is going to face.

Maybe a sign of the times in the luxury car world... dealers so desperate to sell cars that they don’t want, or think, to verify funds. Just want to make the sale...

Have to think if anything happened to the car the dealership and not their insurance would have payed dearly had something happened to the car. I can't imagine them being able to actually recoup anything from the dumbass writing that phony check either.
