Wise advice
Hi all -
Another purchasing dilemma. Have a number of Nautilus, Aquanauts, steel Rolexes. Trying to move onto to something else. What do you all think of the 5235R vs. 5905P (blue) vs Lange 1815 Chrono (boutique edition)? 5235 - too crazy and hard to read or amazing piece? 5905 - great but just wondering if blue is just too common. and is the piece a bit large for the long haul lange - love it, but value destructive as must buy new in boutique Really appreciate detailed thoughts and conclusions. THANK YOU guys! |

I could stare at the movement in the 1815 Chrono for days. I'd flip that beast around and wear it upside down.

I'd go lange in white gold black dial and buy pre-owned

Out of these three IŽd go for a black 5905P. If youŽve got the wrist size to pull it off then go for it.

Lange 1815 Chrono boutique all day long - a watch I actually had on my wrist a few days ago at the boutique - it was stunning and that backside will make your heart melt.
Buy this watch only for the love of horology not if your unsure or plan to resell in the future, it's a unique piece that you need to try and love and keep. Also decide quick as the price will go up 5% in March. |

1815 chrono, must be some greys or used selling for a good discount to mitigate the potential resale, anyway resale should be the least important factor.

The Lange chronographs are the finest chronographs ever made and a bargain, even at MSRP. I don't know why one would ever sell one.

1815 Chronograph black dial is the bee's knees.
I prefer it over the Boutique edition though it is no slouch. It’s personal preference. Either one beats the pants off of the other two IMO. Either of the 3 will have not so great value retention if you buy at retail, so pick which one really speaks to you. If you buy right, the value retention on the Lange is not so bad, but if you truly love the watch like I do, any worry about losing money on resale will melt away quickly as I have not thought for a moment about reselling. |

I think the Lange Chrono is the way to go. I would buy used and never look back.

The Lange 1815 chrono is the prettiest by far among the three.
