I enjoyed watching the date change on my 5970 (5270 was locked away) - the date started advancing at about 2230, and by 0100 was nearly finished but the day and month were still in mid-cycle. A long process. And then I fell asleep so don't know how long it took it total!

Instaneous date change is much harder to do, too bad Patek didn't incorporate it in the newer movement.

My 5970 slowly changing date last night.

To all those with their congratulations and well wishes - a big THANK YOU!
Most interestingly about the 5270G Series 1 is the Chameleon Effect the dial displays.
It takes on different character depending on the lighting.
Those that also have the timepiece have made similar remarks, and I can tell you it is remarkable. You can see a little of it in my initial photos taken on the drive home from my AD.
Logan, did you get that date changed?
Again thank you to all for the kind remarks.
