1.5 link for Nautilus 5712
Fellas, after few weeks of wearing my 5712 I think I will need to get a 1.5 link. Before I contact my AD I wanted to find out if 1.5 link should be free if I purchased from Patek Authorized AD or does it depend on AD?
What causes bracelet stretch? How do most of you wear yours on bracelet? Just give you an idea, the watch does not slide on my wrist. I can mlphysically move it up in down but it's pretty tight. Thanks again! |

I also needed the 1.5 link in both my 5980 and 5711. You can purchase them direct from the PP service center (assuming they have stock) or you can request through your AD and they will order it from PP. Either way, they weren't free (for me at least).
Regarding stretch, not sure the exact cause for the Nautilus bracelets. For reference, mine's fit so I can fit only my pinky finger. |

The 1.5 link is quite costly and I doubt the AD will give it free.

The ADs make sufficient profit, that I’m sure they could sub you the one and a half link.
Ask with the expectation of getting it, or would they rather lose your future custom over such a minor amount? |

Give them a call and ask...however $250 won't break the bank.
I'm sure you probably have a great relationship with your AD, so he'll probably give it to you for free. The 1.5 will make a difference in most cases. |

Bought mine approx 4 months ago from a UK dealer at a cost of £150
I would imagine that unless you have a very good track record with your dealer or you are working out a deal at the time of purchase, most will have to pay for it.

When I got my 5712 the dealer spent a while taking links out/putting them back in until we got the best fit. I was quite surprised there was no mechanism "fine" adjustment like we get even on the older Rolex clasps.

The nautilus bracelet is more akin to the president bracelet - no adjustment on that either.

i did it my self and purchased a couple of extra pins since i would be experimenting…
if you will do it yourself: if it is a newer nautilus you may want to pick up some extra pins and sleeves. i did indeed bend one of the pins in the process but had a spare :) if you have an older version (since you are asking about stretech?) you would be wise to read up on the screws used and not over torquing or shredding the heads.

Its not easy to break in a nautilus bracelet through normal wear so strechting the bracelet won't be so easy. A 1.5 link usually is not free from an AD but, sometimes they would give a free one to their loyal customers happens with AP from my knowledge.

My AD gave the 1,5 link for free, with my new 5711.
I think it normal to deliver a good fitting watch in this pricerange. |
