actually went out of my way yesterday just to go to a watch dealer that sells seiko watches! goodness!!!! the seiko monster was really stunning!!!! (and to think i never knew it existed till i read a few posts here on trf!)!!! they are really stunning! and, like john, plan to get one!!!

any history behind this bad baby?!? which would be a "better" buy -- the orange or the black face monster? or is it really down to personal taste?

geesh! i was so excited that i actually had to search the forum for more posts on the monster!

thank you trf one again!

The monster has 19.5mm lugs but a 20mm strap fits it just fine

I have a Black Monster aswell. I think they are a great watch for the money.

I actually wore it on an Black Animal velcro strap as I found this the most comfy combo.

The only prob I think is that the bezel is very easily knocked and moved, I think it's due to the rather large grips on the bezel. I would often look down and the bezel would be off the 12 O'clock.

I no longer wear mine but I wont sell it either.

Look what I got today!

Here is my new Orange Monster Automatic I received in the mail today! Along with box, papers and the extra rubber strap!

Sitting to the left is my '85 Rolex DateJust 18K/SS and to the right is my Citizen Eco-Drive that I bought the day it debuted back in 2005 in California. Still wear the heck out of it today...but now will be replaced by my MONSTER!

I have several other diver and chrono's in my collection, but these get worn the most!

vernier caliper. It will be 46.74mm if you measure across 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock.
The thickness is 13.08mm.

Monster does not have manual winding capability so you just need to give few good
arm motions to wind the watch. I’ve never truly measured the power reserve capacity
but it's good 40+ hours.

Monster do not have hack function either - although there is a way to hack them by applying
a slight back pressure on the crown but no gurantee as to what will be the consequences
of this method in the long run.

The Monster bracelet is actually a very nice looking solid bracelet and my recommendation
is to get the bracelet then rubber strap or NATO as needed since buying the original bracelet
later can be little costly ($50 ~ $75).

Btw - Monster does go well with NATO strap.
That's not one. They need to be BLACK to be a monster.

Ah! So, that's what that is. Nice one. Yeah, I have 3 watches that don't do that. The Breguet, Ebel, and Aviator. I wait and wait and DAMN miss it and wait and wait...Not the end of the world or anything, it's just that I don't like seeing how my thousand dollar piece of equipment can't even align properly when the second hand hits 12.

What is the OFFICIAL NAME of the MONSTER, so I can order it? OOOPS sorry, I saw the answer to my ?? on an above post/....

And Lastly,

What is a good reputable place I can buy a MONSTER?

Thanks guys,

I switched the OEM rubber band for a Bond Nato about a month ago, and although I've worn it sparingly, it looks and feels and great.

I wish the RED Monster wasn't so expensive. Only 1313 pieces made and at the $1300 price tag...I can think of something else to buy! But I love red!
