Hi everyone !

I live in New York and I'm looking to buy a watche how will be "easy" to sell in Europe, especially in France. I think it will be a good way to change my $ in Euros. I know I might not sell it right away but I'm not in a rush...
So I would like to know if you have some idea on which one I should get.
With a Price range around $ 8,000.
I'm kind of newbie with expensive watches. So your advice are more than welcome!

Are you trying to circumvent the 10K in currency declaration? Not sure why else you would think buying and selling a watch would give you better than the current exchange rate.

First, I like watches. I have a small collection of middle price range watches. My grand father was a watchmaker and I guess I'm in a time period where I start to ask myself if I really do what I want... I'm boat captain, and I'm talking more about watches than boats...
I start to have some money that I can play with and I though that it will be "maybe" and opportunity to start and understand watches business.

Also I realise that a watche at $10,000 will cost 10,000 Euros ( +/-). I know some place where I can get around 15% / 20% on a new watche.
Actually, my bank exchange $1,42 for 1 Euro.
So what I see with the fact to buy and sell watches its that I can make money.
And maybe, step by step to arrive to touch some watches collectors...

Do that make sense? Sorry for my bad English.

He has more then 10,000$ cash to declare and he doesn't want to take the risk of carrying hard currency. So he is planning on buying a watch with the money and then selling it for the cash when back home.

As far as I remember you are allowed to bring more then 10,000$ but you just have to declare it. Why not just do the easy/honest thing?

Never the less I can think of quite a few things more liquid than a watch to do this with....

Carrying more than $10,000 is not a problem once you declare it. All you have to do is fill out some paper work. They don't stop you from bringing more, they just ask that you let them know you are doing it.
