Icon14 $50k-ish for a watch Poll

Ok Gents, while we all lament (or celebrate if you are already an owner) the second hand prices of the 5711/12, Im curious how this influences a new purchase decision. So, 10 options-If you had around $50k, which of these watch acquisitions would you make? Tough to account for all the various options in case metal, case diameter, scope of box/papers and condition of course but lets assume reasonable market levels/status. E.g. I know a 6239 double swiss underline technically would fit the poll entry but we all know that particular version is waaaay past $50k-ish. Pls post if I overlooked your preferred option

Im glad u brought up the AP 15407! I totally didnt know what to do with that one. I see MSRP at $44.1k and Chrono24 prices at around $70k. Similar premium (in percent terms) to the steel Nautilus models. How about the wait list times? 5711/12 running 3-5 years. What about the 15407?

I'd choose the 5712 just over the Dato. Could maybe get a used Zeitwerk for 50.

Platinum Daytona, 3940g, 5170g. Or save some money if you can grab the 5712a for msrp.

I voted for the 5711. I think beauty in the simplest dial is the hardest to achieve, and to me, the 5711 is perfect in every way.

Chronographs charging ahead of the pack! I'm really surprised with the performance of AP tho, looks like a lot of people respecting the haute RO

I put 5712 because it is my favorite owned watch and favorite at that price zone, though I would really not recommend buying one for those crazy prices

I think the 5170G right now along with the J represent great value and can be bought under $50K. Perhaps some day collectors come around to them. So for the money it’s a great reference and true value in secondary market.

Owning some of those listed, I chose the 5170G. I think it's a good one for the long haul, when trends change the 5170 will likely still be there with no more or no less demand that currently. Maybe even it picks up a little. Plus there'd be a few thousand or more to spare to spend on something else.

I would go for the AP PC. I'm all about maximizing complications, except for chronos.

What are the waist lists like on a 5990 or 41 mm AP RO open worked? Looks like they both meet the price range and I overlooked them. Any other watches I missed? I may post another poll and replace the under performers.

Icon14 $50k-ish for a Watch Poll 2.0

Thanks for educating me on the market folks. So after the pilot poll, pls see the above update reflecting some omissions and removing some under performers. Comments always appreciated.

5711 not that attractive now cause second hand market price is 20k 30k above retail.

As much as i love the 5711, paying 50K for that makes no sense with a 5170G or a Datograph on the table for the same money. So in that sense im glad i don't like only one watch as the value aspect would come into play in some of these head to heads

Still picked the 5990 though

I picked 5712 last time. But with the different parameters I’ve moved to 5990 which may be my next watch.

it really is an amazing piece and its probably the sportiest Patek as the thickness makes it wear more like a sub and not an ultra thin dress watch.
