Icon20 $50k-ish Watch Poll Reboot

Hello again Gents, right when I think the 2.0 poll had a nice set of updated entries and traction with votes, I believe it was pulled down. To the moderators, please note that this is not a duplicate post-I've made substantive changes to the entries. Anyhow, I hope this is as informative to you all as it is to me. Thank you

I vote 5990, but that's because I'm biased. It's a good value relative to the 11/12 grey prices, and even their MSRPs.

Initially, I was going to vote for the 5524 because, realistically, I think that would be the watch I'd get but voted for the 5990 because it seems like it would be a better value. Not sure what the wait times are for either model but if it's 1 year then it's not too bad.

Thank you for this consideration. I dropped the 6239/6262 option as many posters felt it was unrealistic to obtain a decent quality piece for < $60k. In its place I put the 5524. I tried to keep pieces on the list if expected wait time was < 18 months-its hard to be confident on this timing tho.

I voted 5712 but I think 5990 is a good option as well.

To me, also unrealistic to say can get 5711 at retail (even with wait), in this context

Best bang for the buck is the Datograph 39mm. You get platinum case with one of the best chrono movements at around 40k.

For versatility, I would go with 5712 or 5711.

You say this of course about the 5711/1A but also the 5711/1R? The former is only on this poll as a grey price to avoid the 3-5+ year wait vs. luck. I think it would win a similar poll hands down as the best $25k-ish watch on the market. What is the wait like on the latter 5711/1R? I figured it could be had in < 18 months at retail price..

I’d get a 5170G from watches you have listed. Cool looking watch with a fantastic movement at value price given today’s market for them.

Surely the R can be had in less than 6 months, same with the 5990, unless you live in some tough country, so those would be my choices.

its still amazing to me that at market pricing the 5711 and 5170G are even in the same ballpark. its simply nuts.

Where´s the 5711 blue at list + 5167 at list option?

As much as I love my blue 5711 but I´d never pay the current grey prices, at 50k I´d have a 5170.

I didnt include the option of the 5167+5711 at list prices since I figure the time it'd take to acquire both these models from an AD would have to be at least 3-5 years. Perhaps this will change in the future but def not a good short run probability

'Zactly. A 5711 would diversify my choices far more than a 5170, but from a value/beauty/PM/etc. perspective, IMO it's an easy choice. At MSRP, I suppose the 5170 is approaching 3x the 5711 MSRP as well.

5712/1A here and in pretty much all other polls in which it appears as an option.

I voted for the 5712a (biased? lol).....but the 5170g/r or Datograph clearly is the best for your $$ choice out of these choices.....not totally convinced you could find a super good example of 3940g in this price range though but that would be a hot hot choice also if you could find the right watch......certainly a 3940j would be a great choice if you liked yellow gold @ this price range.
