Hong Kong is a dangerous place

Hong Kong is a very dangerous place! Cos you can easily find Seiko / Grand Seiko everywhere and cause serious damage to your “wallet” :-P

Went for Seiko hunting with my friends on Friday night, saw couple of LE GS.

SBGA403

SBGH266

SBGK005

End up I took SBGK005 home as my 3rd Grand Seiko :-)

The blue dial is so beautiful and classy, inspired by Mount Iwate.

Zaratsu polished 39mm case, 9S63 72 hours hand-wound movement.

It’s a non-stop Grand Seiko incoming summer :-O

PS. GS Gift from AD, sake cup set

Very nice. Congratulations. HK is great for Seiko shopping...like it was for Rolex shopping till a couple of years ago. Did you get a discount?

Yes go for it!! Or if you like red / gold combination, SBGK002 is very attractive.

Thanks Adam. You are right, we used to search from different Rolex AD and compare how much discount we can get, even SS models...

Yup, I got discount from AD, will PM you for details.

I confirmed it's dangerous, I live here (HK) and hard to stop buying watches (especially Seiko). Haha
If you guys want some great deals for normal Seiko, I can share my favourite Seiko AD contact by PM.

I used to have staff price for GS (a pity I bought only 1 and then he left...). That's how I got my GS GMT (cream dial) for an amazing price at that time.

I agree 110% - in fact, I've never seen as many ADs and Boutiques in any other city on Earth (I haven't been to every city on Earth but my guess is HK is one of the capitals of watch sales )

On my visit last Nov I managed to find the Seiko Boutique on Nathan Rd (ISquare? shopping mall) but it was on my last day and my schedule was too hectic to manage a purchase. A real shame, because of the tax-free prices... oh well, next time I'll be ready

I wear it for 1 day, more than 10 colleagues asked what brand is it:

This blue watch is beautiful!

Oh it’s Seiko? I have a Citizen and G-Shock too~

Of course I don’t bother to tell them much lol

Wow envy! Staff price! Too bad their office in HK is not hiring

Many of my friends also can’t stop buying watches, no matter hi-end or everyone affordable brands

You are right, and many shops in one small area in Hong Kong. There are lots of shops in Japan actually but widely spread across different cities.

Yes, there is a boutique in iSquare, most of the limited edition sold out fast but still have many models there.

Please do come back again when HK is getting a bit more stable~

Btw, about the Seiko hunting that night, everyone brought a Seiko home. This is one of the old stock SBEX003 we found in a small shop in Mong Kok, my friend took his credit out in 5 seconds!

Congrats! Try a lighter/more casual strap. Really makes the SBGK005 a lot more flexible and brings out the blue dial

All the Seiko ADs will start at 10% off if you just simply ask. I've gotten as much as 20% but think 25% is possible.

Congratulations! The dial on the SBGK005 is stunning.

Are there any particular pre-owned Seiko shops you would recommend in HK (e.g., where your friend bought his SBEX003)?

I’m about to search for a strap but not sure which color match SBGK005 the best. The grey strap Hodinkee shown was quite nice.

Yes, normally AD offer 10% off for hot items such as limited edition.

Yes, the dial is real stunning :-)

I will pm you for the shop list, and the SBEX003 is actually a brand new old stock, not pre-owned.

Thank you nan7yo. I know HK has plenty of vintage Rolex shops around TST, Central and Mong Kok, but I'm less familiar with where to find Seiko or GS (other than at ADs).

Also, for all the HK TRF members, please keep safe with all the recent happenings in HK
