I'd go for the 009 unless you really love the vintage look. The day/date complication is one reason. Reliability is another. Cheap movements still cost money to service. I prefer the 009j over the 009k with the extra line of text for a more balanced dial layout.

If you feel a vintage vibe go for the 7002, tho it will be hard (really hard) to find one in original condition and at decent price.
Otherwise just go for SKX. |

009 for sure (and yes, j rather than k). That said, I'd look at the mini turtle. The SKX's achilles is the old movement. Unless it's your one-and-only watch, the day-date complication plus lack of manual wind is a total pain.

Go with the 009. I've owned both a SKX009 and an 80s 7002.
The 7002 was great and I had it for a few years but after a failed water pressure test I couldn't own it any longer. I sold it and purchased a brand new 009 on a Jubilee and the rest is history. I've had my 009 for almost 5 years now, and it's my go to sports watch.
