I wouldn't take that for free.... it would probably take me forever to get rid of it. However the style must appeal to some people, so I don't wish to put a dampener on other people's taste, it just isn't mine.

Not a Daytona. It’s carbon so the case isn’t made by Rolex. Poser watch.

Aren't all of these just fakes or at best homage pieces.

You clowns make me laugh!

If at Basil 2020 Rolex announced they were making a carbon fiber or ceramic model you same naysayers would fall all over yourselves gushing about what an assume watch it is!

There is nothing wrong with custom pieces and everyone has different tastes. I had a carbon fiber AP and they are great. Very durable and light.

Would love to see Rolex step out and add in some different materials like carbon fiber, ceramic or titanium even if at limited numbers.

Variety is good!

From the internet.

“You've probably heard of carbon fiber, but forged?

A few years ago, Lamborghini started looking into how they could make their already-super-fast cars even faster. There are essentially only two ways to make a sports car faster—making a more efficient, more powerful engine or making the car lighter. Seeing as their engines are already about as good as it gets, they turned their attention to the latter issue. Enter carbon fiber. Super strong and unbelievably lightweight, carbon fiber was just the material for the job, but the typical woven sheets could only make a limited number of shapes. To fix that problem, Lamborghini developed a process that allowed 3-dimensional shapes to be forged; the new process not only allowed for more flexibility in part production, but also replaced the standard weave pattern. And fortunately the process can be used for more than car parts.

Like the folks at Lamborghini, when we started looking a material to develop a better ring we wanted something strong and light, and just like a luxury sports car, we knew it needed to be beautiful. So we got to work finding a way to adapt the forged carbon method to ring production. And while our products won't set you back nearly as much as an Italian sports car, we think they're just as beautiful. “

I like the idea of carbon cases, like what Panerai and G-Shock are doing, but it’s got to be the right watch...and a Daytona just isn’t it. The Daytona dial is arguably already too busy and hard to read. Add the texture of carbon, and it’s a big mess.

I wouldn't mind seeing a full ceramic Daytona. Rolex would have to make it though. This custom company stuff is nuts. Best of luck to anyone who buys into it. Why don't they make Nautiluses or RMs and charge a quarter of a million for them btw? Seems a better idea to me.

I actually like the watches, although wouldn’t buy one at 40k. I prefer this extract from above though.

As these watches are clearly not Rolex official watches moved to the non Rolex forum.
