Have you ever bought a watch and did not receive the proper box?

It has happened to me twice: JLC Geophysique and Omega Speedmaster.

The JLC boutique quickly provided the presentation box after I asked for it. You may remember that thread last year when many doubters said I would never get it.

I bought the Speedmaster from an AD about ten years ago. A boutique worker recently asked if I received a presentation box. I did not. I got a small red box.

If you never bought a certain type of watch, how would you know what its box would look like?

Before purchasing any watch, I always do a thorough research on all watch forums, scanning photographs and watching unboxing videos. For example, the Seiko Diver SLA 017 62Mas Reissue has 2 types of presentation boxes: One for a boutique in Frankfurt, Germany and another for the rest of the world...
Edit: Some Swiss, Japanese and German brands have barcode stickers on the outer box

Is it the same for SLA025 and/or SLA033? Are there special presentation boxes also?

WOW, very cool how Germany got special preference on this presentation box than everywhere else in the world, even Japan

I don't believe omega had the big presentation box 10 years ago. It came out with the new ref 311. The red box is correct to your watch.

Was originally given the wrong box with my Bell & Ross. AD swapped it out for me the next day when I brought it to their attention.

Heard that for seiko, german releases have better presentation boxes.

The sla017 pictured above. The sla025 has a dive knife. The sla033 has a flashlight.

Curious why germany is treated much better than rest of the world.

Most grey market sellers do not send a box.

This memorigin box is also nice. Doubles as a winder.
