Please help me ID this Vintage ROLEX
I have inherted this watch from my grandfather and i have no idea if its real or when it was made.
Apparently it was given to him by his father before he left for WW2 and he wore it during all of his missions. If nothing else it has a lot of sentimental value. SERIAL # on caseback is 88510 Any info would be appreciated. Thanks JK |

Wow! That's real old! I'm no expert on really old Rolex's, I'll bump this up!

I would like to see the movement before judging if it's real or not, but I don't ever recall seeing the caseback like that, even on the older oysters.

Caseback looks very Seiko-esque.

i am hesitant to take off the case back to expose the movement. i am in the process of trying to take it to my local rolex service centre but i am just trying to find out as much info as i can beforehand. what should i look for in the movement if i do decide to remove it. Thanks
