Gold Panerai Question
Hey Paneristi - question about gold Panerai. Can someone guide me to some good references that are 44mm or smaller, 100m waterproof, ideally with a 1950s cushion style gold Luminor case?
Not sure how much those conditions would limit my search. Curious to hear any opinions. Thanks! Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk |

There's something that fits those requirements in the Luminor and Luminor Due lines, but this is my favorite that meets most your requirements.

Thank you... Yes indeed that's a reference that ticks a lot of boxes! Maybe a shot in the dark but are there any gold submersible owners around that can share some photos / personal takes on wearing this? I haven't seen one in person before. And I couldn't find a lot of info online.
Any anecdotes would be helpful! Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk |

In the 42mm submersible range, in addition to the current 2164, there are also predecessors 1164, 974, and 684.
I don’t recall all the model differences, but I recall that the 3-digit ones are 100m and 4-digit are full 300m WR. I’ve not owned any of these subs, but I have kicked the tires on the idea. I really liked the 974 in the metal when I tried it on awhile back. Even at 42mm, wears pretty big to me…that’s a big hunk of polished gold. I’m a big fan of the 42mm subs on my ~7in wrist, as I own two versions of it now and love them both. |

Few pics of Pam 684 , 289 and 261. Good luck on your search. Panerai gold models have amazing wrist presence and mighty heft , not something that will fly under the radar easily. IMG20220604153640.jpgIMG20210508141702.jpgIMG20220121144250.jpgIMG20211009152228.jpgIMG20210928132205.jpg

Wow great photos guys... Lots of good looking gold Panerai. I hadn't thought of the 289. That on a white strap is a stunner. I mean they all are. The polished gold of the 684 and the brushed red gold of the newer 44mm reference also look completely different in these photos. So thanks for that.
I wonder why I don't see more Panerai gold out in the wild? Is it because people who want gold go to other brands? Personally I always thought a big gold Panerai is one of the most badass things there is in the watch world... What a cool iteration of a massive industrial, military tool watch. I think this for me is the nicest looking watch in the world, maybe an odd choice but I just adore it, I don’t think I can pay up for it with the P900 movement though sadly, also having a 47mm 425, I’d like the 42mm but I want the Carbo bezel of the 47mm version, Panerai make things awkward far too often.
