Bezel Dent!

Hello to the community! I got a dent on the ring bezel of my new Submariner (just a week old)124060 as it had hit the edge of a door. The dent is small but i am just not comfortable looking at it ,knowing that is there. Should I change the Basel or just live with it?It’s located just under number 50 -40 of the bezel. 😫🤦*♂️

Is this the first watch you have owned?

I don't ask that with intent to be condescending, but rather because watches get beat up with wear and this is such minor damage that even at 30x magnification it is barely visible. If you continue to wear it, it will get dented, dinged, and scratched, and it will incur cosmetic markings that are much more visible than this.

My recommendation is to not only live with it, but to embrace it, as this is part of owning a watch that is designed to be worn every day in all life circumstances. The watch will still look great and will still be a great companion, even over the years of accumulating cosmetic imperfections. So wear it every day in good health knowing that it will still look great even as it accumulates these markings.

That's probably the smallest amount of damage to be reported on this forum as a "dent" in the many years I've been a member on this forum.

If it troubles you, have it repaired/replaced but be ready for the onslaught

Take my advice throw away all your high magnification and enjoy wearing your watch for many years in good health, now that's far more important than a very very miniscule mark.

Wear it til the next big scratch or dent comes along. Then, wait the next one after that.

thanks everyone for the comments i think i will wear the watch a little more relaxed from now on. it is clear to me that a watch gets scratches or dents! However, I see many here in the forum, the watches all look like new!
as ones that are never worn!✌️

It would bother me and I’d demand the RSC to give me a new one under warranty.

The watches here are just photographed from arm's length...you can't see the imperfections. You don't want to see my watch and many others magnified like yours!

If this is your first Rolex...we've all been there. Your tolerance for scratches and dents will relax the longer you wear it. Wear the watch, don't let the watch wear you.

At first I thought this was a prank, I only saw it after you circled it. Just wait until you get a real one! Beautiful watch, go enjoy it and may you put 1000 more!

Yes, this is my first watch.
A present from my wife.
Always wanted a green Submariner, never actually bought it because I didn't like the magnifying glass.
However, I'm thinking about buying a Panda Daytona as well.
The only thing that bothers me a bit, though, is that you have to pay almost $32,000 for a steel watch

Just wait til you hit your watch against a door handle for the first time. The amount of air you suck in through your teeth before looking at your watch is phenomenal.

Watches aren’t investments, especially ones from your wife. Wear it and enjoy every scratch as a year lived.

With the first watch, those first few marks can hurt. However, they're unavoidable and, with the nature of the Submariner's finish, very good at hiding cosmetic imperfections. Plus, it will continue to look very attractive even as it ages/accumulates wear.

Hey that sounds familiar! lol.

The first scratch is the most painful. Even after wearing a Rolex every day for the last 8+ years, I got a very minor scratch on the clasp of my brand knew LV Sub a week after bringing it home and I freaked out. Even knowing better, it's hard to not feel the pain of that first imperfection Don't worry, it will pass. But I agree with Padi, looking at your watch under magnification only leads to pain... just enjoy it (and I'm trying hard to take my own advice).

You would hate my watches.... But to be fair I've worn my watches around the world, while in the military, in the field, working in the yard, swimming, rock climbing, jumping off cliffs, camping, hiking, sleeping, etc...

Your watch will see many a scratch / ding / dent / etc over its life. Just wait till normal service and Rolex will take care of it for you. If you worry about every scratch when it happens you'll end up with an over polished watch with tons of money sunk in paying to get scratches polished out.

I still don’t really see the dent, but then again my eyes aren’t what they used to be. Only time I repaired my Sub was when I lost the bezel completely (after 20 years of wearing it). To be honest I miss the way my scratched up dented bezel looked.

Enjoy it. It’s a beautiful watch.

I don’t see the dent even after magnification lol. I get it though, the tiniest door doing to my car always eats at me.
