New for 2023

My .02:

Yes:
5531. Beautiful watch. Love the minute repeater in a WT.
5924. Saw some complaints about the thickness that chrono adds to the watch. Colors are spectacular.

Need to acquire taste:
6007G. Feels swatchy. Interested to hear from folks who get to try this on, but I'm sure not a fan. Was really hoping for an updated movement in a 5196 or something to that effect.
5524. Not sure this concept will take off. I dunno.

What do others think?

6007 I love it, had my AD not blown up I’d order one today. Might contact a certain SA from there who is now working somewhere else that still has the brand.

I could have sworn the 5811 was $67+ but now I see it is $69+.

If you blink these days, you’ve missed another PP price increase.

IMO..In general the new releases for PP this year is quite meh..

Very nice: 5316P + 5531G

Not bad to neutral: 5224R (hit or miss but currently its a hit for me) + 5905GR + 5268G + 5968R

Very not nice at all...:
5261R - Very cluttered and messy. I can't tell what am I trying to see. But long as it is an aquanuat, the resale price will go crazy regardless if the design is poor.

6007 - Too young and loud for the wrong reasons. Leave such designs and colors to RM and AP or even Swatch

5924G - Horribly messy with the 2 large sub dial cutting into 5 of the numeral indices. Felt incomplete for some reasons. Might be better with baton indices.

6300 - Hmm..two tone not for me. A mix of green emeralds or diamonds also not for me too. Why mix? Either WG or RG or full emeralds or full diamonds will be much better. But complication wise, it is definitely up there. My complaints are on the aesthetic given such high end complication deserves better.

Finger cross for better releases down the road this year.

6007 was interesting but seems like the wrong brand for that kind of watch.
5531 was very nice

hopefully better stuff to come later this year

I don't get why PP made the 5224 with the 12 at the 12 o'clock. That's not intuitive to me and I don't care what PP says about legibility. To me, it's about the ease of reading the time on a 24-hour scale.

I think the human mind....especially the watch mind....is used to looking at midnight at the usual 12, with the day hours on the bottom half. That's how all fixed bezel GMTs are oriented.

Just really odd decision there.

i don't think it's an innate human quality - you could argue the 5224 follows the sun which would probably be more intuitive to ancient homo sapiens

But the whole watch is weird and good on them for making weird stuff, but i hope it doesn't mean they abandon the classics too much.

The 6007 seems like a watch to be worn casually. I kind of like it, since I wear jeans and a T-shirt every day. What I don’t like is that at the 40k+ price point they are going for a stamped dial. That’s just BS.

I further think that if they upped the water resistance and gave it a rubber band it would be a pretty cool sporty watch.
