P.900 Movement

Does this movement have a stop seconds feature?
Thanks,
Michael

The original ValFleurier movement was born with hacking seconds but the latest Panerai version doesn't have the feature anymore from what I heard.

Cheers

The P.900 does have hacking. My PAM683 from 2021-11 had it.

Damn, this is the first P.900 I see without hacking.

I know that some of their other "workhorses" like P.3000 and P.5000 never had hacking, but it now seems like they're removing it from all the movements now.

I wonder when they started removing it because I tried out their new Quaranta-series at my local AD and they have hacking

Edit: no hacking here at 1:20 either:
https://youtu.be/VRTZrWhvsAo

They're probably phasing out the old P.900 with hacking then

I guess after the brooklyn bridge debacle Panerai would steer clear of undecorated movements. The question is are other brands doing the same thing at this price point?

Hi Jose,

Love your content. Thinking about getting a P.5000 based watch. 2021 model. Thoughts on the movement? Price on watch is very good.

Panerai truly is a joke. They are ripping you off.

The article Perez has written says enough.

My favorite watch is a PAM 111 that I purchased 12 years ago. Still looks fantastic. No hacking seconds. I never missed it. I also have a Rolex GMT Batman. Have you seen that movement? Yikes! Zero decoration.

I was interested in the 914 & 915 until they switched to the steel back. Now I know why, it's to hide the ugly undecorated movement!

Maybe someone at Panerai will read these threads and make a course correction.

That really is atrocious, It’s just totally unacceptable, and that’s coming from a huge Panerai fan not a Rolex fan boy or hater. I’ve waited for a 44mm Submersible for a long time and to see this is so disheartening. Having a 47mm PAM 425 I adore I simply don’t want or need another huge 47mm so looks like my Submersible dream is over.

I was ready and excited for a 44mm submersible but I reconsidered after seeing this. I am sorry this is unacceptable for a 10 thousand dollar watch. I also have a 1662 which they removed the hacking feature which I accepted but then finding out they didn't decorate the movement like my beautiful 1320 makes me sick to my stomach esp for a 15k watch. Sorry Panerai you have had so many chances to be great.

What I love about Panerai non-hacking movements in that it’s harder to tell what mediocre timekeepers they are.

Undecorated movements, downgrading movements, lightly decorating ETA's and calling them inhouse.. it's infuriating in a brand I love and own multiple watches from.

It'd be one thing if they did it in less expensive models and were upfront about it. I'd be in favor of that to make the brand accessible to more people. Thank god for Jose Pereztroika of Perezcope for shining a light on their unethical practices over the years.

I hope they get back on the right track but Panerai has a long history of cutting corners in certain models to make an extra buck.

I still may buy another one but with Panerai you really have to research the exact year and model you're buying to make sure you're getting your money's worth.
