2022 Lange Zeitwerk movement

I counted 32 inward angles on the new generation straight remontoir bridge.

@penny_watch_seoul IG.

This is seriously impressive.

Does anyone know how many Zeitwerk are made annually? And what are the retail prices for the platinum and pink gold as their website is indicating "price upon request"?

I don't have the production numbers but I do have the prices.

Zeitwerk platinum:

Current price - SGD 165,400
Price after 20 March - SGD 173,000

Zeitwerk pink gold:

Current price SGD 149,700
Price after 20 March - No change

Zeitwerk date (white gold):

Current price SGD 155,900
Price after 20 March - SGD 188,000

Thanks buddy! That's very helpful
Maybe I'm in the minority but I think the pink gold pricing is reasonable given the complication and hand-finishing involved. I do like it very much but not sure if the 41.9mm is an issue. Will head to the Boutique to try.

I felt the Zeitwerk actually wears small for its diameter. Very wearable even for smaller wrists. First gen WG is still trading in the mid-60s USD. Dunno who is paying up for the 2nd gen. The date adjuster and a slightly thinner case aren’t +80% nice imo. Besides, the black dial WG is the best looking.

I tried the new ZW last fall, and IMO the black dial WG is striking - but something about the pink gold makes the zeitwerk pop a little bit more.

Looks great on your wrist! I also prefer the pink gold due to the aesthetics and the slightly friendlier price.

I had one and sold it. Cool watch but a little boring. You’ll be able to beat up the dealer on price a lot I would think. I paid mid 50s for a brand new one from a lange boutique in March of 2020.

Not any more, Lange boutiques have a zero discount policy.

Was at the Boutique earlier and thanks to the friendly SE, I got to try on the Lange 1 Time Zone which has the same diameter as the new Zeitwerk (there was no available Zeitwerk prototype available at the Boutique). Unfortunately the L2L was too large for my wrist and I don't think I will proceed with this beautiful timepiece.

Despite having similar dimensions, I think L1TZ and ZW wears differently. I didn’t like the appearance of L1TZ when I tried it on, but I quite enjoy my ZW (140.029). Could be some subtle differences in the lug slope or the visual openness and clutter of L1TZ compared to ZW ... 🤷🏽*♂️

That's a good suggestion. I have asked the SE to call me for another try when they receive the ZW again

Also, be warned, Lange will not honor whatever they tell you RE: future allocations.

I think this is unfair. I read about your case and that sucks. However, my experience was great. I bought my first Lange from a boutique and was told 12 months for the steel Odysseus and received it exactly on time.

Keep in mind this is before it was a "hot' watch.

This is also before all the Lange hype.

And it was MARCH 2020, during PEAK COVID fear, when stocks had collapsed.

Anyways, they changed their mind later, so I got annoyed and sold my Zeitwerk.

I tried on a Zeitwerk in the NYC boutique and was really impressed by it "on the wrist".

Did the HQ give you an allocation or only the boutique?

Another angle of the Remontoir bridge. Spectacular.

@sjx

If I were Wilhelm Schmid, I will only allow customers to buy the Zeitwerk after buying a Odysseus plus a Saxonia, and not the other way round.

For some reason I always thought that’s how it worked, that Zeitwerks were reserved for loyal customers and you couldn’t order it as a first watch. Guess I was wrong.

This may vary by region. In the US, the price of the RG 142.031 will increase on 3/20, though the increase will be less substantial than for the PT 142.025 (can't share the numbers here til 3/20).

That may be true with the more complicated ZW Date. But a regular ZW is something anyone can order unless/until Lange changes that. There was all sorts of misinformation in 2021-22 about Lange's sales policies, and Lange didn't help themselves by moving the goalposts a few times and by variously closing down and opening up the ability for anyone to order certain models at certain times. When I visited a boutique last week, the manager had a rose gold/black dial Datograph that I believe anyone could buy. If I remember correctly, the Dato was one of those models a year or two ago that was rumored to be restricted, but I think Lange just wasn't taking orders from anyone for that piece for a period of time.

Yeah I’m also not sure how they determine which models are closed for ordering and which aren’t. For what it’s worth when I enquired about the Zeitwerks they gave me the prices and didn’t say any were closed for ordering so I assume they’re all available.

I’m sure you’re right that pricing will be different for different regions due to currency exchange fluctuations and other factors.

I only got my name on the W/L for a Dato after a prior purchase. Dato arrived 12 months later but I got it :-)
