What are my chances ?
So after nearly 2 years of visiting AP boutique and developing a kind of a relationship ship with SA I was finally offered a 15510 st that I am getting soon , this will be my first AP what are my chances asking for 16202 or open work as a 2nd watch after RO ? Even if that means waiting for another 2 years

Try another 3-4 watches (including a ROO, code 11.59 and ideally a ladies watch) before any serious chance of a 15202. Openwork literally no chance until you likely have 4-6 over several years |

Unfortunately very little IMO. Don’t say anything now imo. Once you pick up the 15510, wait a few months, then tell him “hey Ive been loving it, and am gunning for a jumbo/OW, is that possible”?
Just be honest. SA might make you buy some garbage, might not.

It all depends on the region of the world, but you generally will need several pieces in the collection before being offered a Jumbo. Here in the U.S. it requires APNA approval. A 15407 or 15416 usually needs a pretty extensive collection before being considered. Showing diversity with either ROO's or Code's will definitely help the cause as well as a new client to AP. Opening a profile under a wife's name and getting a ladies piece goes a long ways too.
Again, this is all dependant on region so I would at least have the conversation with your SA.

Regarding wife’s joint account, are you able to see the wife’s pieces when logged into your account, or is that visible on the SA side only? |

From my conversations, 16202 is around the 5th piece and the more diverse the collection across the different models, the better.
But that’s not a rule. Last year 50th anniversary 16202st were given to new customers as a first piece. |

Always worth asking but as a second watch I’d say it’s not very likely at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You’re getting a 15510 as your first watch? Impressive.

I was wondering this same question on my end. I have a RO, ladies RO, two ROO and a Code. I asked my SA to add the 15510OR, 16202 and 15407 to my wish list, and I was thinking that would roughly be the order that I could acquire them in. Does that seem realistic?

I have purchased 4 Ro for my wife, 2 Code , 1 ROO, 4 Ro but still do not have any Jumbo, or any Precious metal Royal Oak. It is a long journey to your target.

Did you ask to have it added to your wishlist? Your collection should be extensive enough to get one.

Yep I agree with everyone above, but each person’s journey can be very different. FYR, I got a 26315st as my first piece and received a Jumbo 15202st as my second piece and that was in 2021 which coincidentally was the last production year of the 15202. So your relationship with AP, including your sales, boutique manager and above matters quite a bit in terms of allocation.

Exactly…I was wondering why needing to ask SA to update/change wishlist when we all have access through our own accounts. This is the same list that my SA populates and refers to.

Yeah, I've always understood that the internal wishlist system used by the SA is different from the website wishlist that we can update unilaterally. Either way, don't think it hurts to formally update your SA with what you want when you see them instead of just relying on a website.

Congratulations with upcoming 15510…. That said obtaining 160202 as second is very unlikely. Enjoy the hobby

I am pretty sure the website and AP's CRM are not linked.
The only list that really matters is the one that is registered in the CRM and your SA is working towards. |

As far as website wishlists, I dont think there's any link between the logged in "save your watch" and the actual wish list maintained in their CRM system. Frankly, I dont understand why AP has a website wishlist as it literally has no meaning... As for the OP - getting a 15510 as your first AP is a really good start! That said, I'd expect them to "show your appreciation" by diversifying a bit (ROO, ladies, Code) before they would be inclined to offer you a jumbo. Won't hurt to ask in any case but I think you literally have zero shot on an openworked at this point unless your collection has several pieces Good luck! |

Here in the U.S., the online wishlist is not of any use. The internal wishlist is what they go by. The wishlist with my boutique does not reflect on my online wishlist.

I play with the AP website wishlist from time to time, but I'm sure that in my case the only thing that counts is that my AP contact remembers what I'm looking for (i.e., not even the wishlist in the AP CRM is particularly relevant).
