Any play in the attachment of the tropical band?

I just received the new for me Aquanaut 5167A (2009) that is fully serviced for three years ago by PP.

I love it but I am a bit concerned about the feeling of play where the tropical band attaches to the case. The aquanaut band/bracelet has two pins that attaches into the case, and I'm starting to suspect that the holes that the pins attach to has expanded, hence resulting in a small but still detectable play.

What are your experiences, especially you who have newer Aquanauts, is there any play or is the band attachment stiff?

Thank you!

Have had a 5164a for about 4 years now, never once had an issue like you describe. One of the most comfortable watches I own hands down.

Have had numerous Aquanauts. No play. Could the pins on the strap not be fully engaging the case holes? If you are comfortable doing it,
I suggest removing the strap with a spring bar tool to check.

I think we may onto something here...

The watch I've bought used to be on the steel bracelet, and the tropical band (original of course) was added later. So my thought is that maybe the former owner may have used the same pins that held the steel bracelet for the new tropical band. This thought is due to the fact that the play is lateral around the pins between the lugs (i.e. not the pins that attaches into the case at 12-and 6-a clock position).

But this is under the assumption that the pins between the horns differ depending on wether it is steel bracelet or the tropical. Can anyone shed any light on this?

It’s been a long time since I had an Aquanaut with both bracelets but the pins on both fit the body just fine.
