How can you tell if a case is over polished?

What are the tell signs that a case has been over polished when considering a pre-owned steel Patek?

Edges, edges always give it away imo, they need to be sharp.

Over polished is misused.

If it has been rubbed, ground, or polished where the shape is wavy, altered, gouged deformed, it is "over polished"

If it has simply been touched up or buffed there is still likely plenty of watch there to make look as new.
