New Chopard L.U.C 1860

It's an absolute stunner of a watch:

Thanks for sharing! This 1860 is stunning! And it comes without the awkward date :)

that 1860 is fantastic - wish they'd make it 38mm though

For me this may well be the prettiest of the new releases by any brand today. Drop dead gorgeous. Thankfully they did away with the date too. Looking at the pricing me thinks they know what they did there.

+1
If I remember correctly, Metalem makes the dial for LUC 1860, the same maker as Simplicity. That said the whole package is lovely and I can't think of a prettier watch released today.

Yes, Metalem did indeed do dials for the original 1860. I hope the same is true for the new reference.

It's a bit steep considering that the case is not made of precious metal and that original 1860 in both yellow and white gold sell for around 20k on the secondary market.

New Chopard L.U.C 1860

Thanks - I have always wanted one of these as the Geneve seal movement is beautiful and the dial is gorgeous too.

The price is £21,100 from Chopard’s website which is very steep so not for me unless it comes on the secondary market at substantial discount. Lovely watch all the same though.

I agree re. retail price namely because it's not a precious metals watch. As for the secondary market prices, I don't think this particular reference will depreciate a lot. If you look at the original 1860 (in both yellow and white gold), a full set sells for around 25-28k EUR.

Wow looks great and small enough for the ladies, yet ok for men as well. The finishing details are wonderful!

Interestingly, they priced it even higher than the Alpine Eagle with the same movement. I doubt many will show up on the secondary market unless they overproduce the watch.

Personally I don't mind the steel case and I can't remember having seen a Geneva seal on a steel case before. I am less sure about the salmon dial on my fair skin but I will hopefully be able to see it at the local Chopard boutique soon.

Underrated series. For a long time, the LUC was generally stupid cheap second hand.

My only reservation with the original version of this watch was the date, which this rectifies. Still, it's a bit pricey and I would like this in a platinum case for a bit more coin.
