Seiko Pogue Reissue

With all the market craze on vintage reissue, do you foresee that Seiko will do the Pogue chronograph reissue in the very near term?

I want to add that in my collection after the 62mas reissue and the Snowflake 211.

2019 is the 50th anniversary of the 6139, so I would be shocked if we don't see it.

For me, the question is single sub-dial with 30 minute counter like the original 6139 (which Seiko currently doesn't have a caliber for), or traditional 3 register like the current in-house awesome 8r48? I'd like to see them go the 8r48 route, but I'm sure some if not most 6139 fans will be pissed if they do.

...and I put the USD retail over $5.75k - so it'll be an expensive Seiko all be it great value.

I hope there's a reissue of some sort ,& Seiko are faithful to the original . It would be in good company with its older sibling

Thanks folks for chiming in. I’ll be seriously following Basel 2019 if indeed a Pogue reissue will be made by Seiko.

Well you might be disappointed. Seiko doesn't always release watches for Basel. It is usually after Basel when they start releasing watches.

I threw one away around 1980 because a watch repairman told me it wasn't worth repairing. oh well....

They weren't back then. Just recently in the last few years they have gotten big. Unfortunately to rebuild a movement on them will cost quite a bit, almost what it sells for.

Doesn’t cost that much. I do them for people all over the world now (and 6138’s) as there’s not ‘that’ many people that will service them.

Regards the reissue. I hope not! I can just imagine it... bigger case, dial with printed Seiko logo, horrible smooth modern hour markers, rounded crystal and $3000

The parts are part of the cost. And parts for a 6138/6139 is not cheap.
