500,000 footballer robbery: Between it a Daytona gold and a Day Date
The English league footballer Mahrez had jewellery and watches (including a Daytona gold and a Day Date) worth about £500,000 stolen from his home.
Among the watches was also a Richard Mille of about £ 230,000 Mahrez with the stolen Richard Mille |

Don’t understand how people could have so much valuable stuff lying around without proper security.
All my watches are kept in a large safe, with access controlled by multiple locker doors and motion sensors to lock internal doors and all covered by cctv. I do kept my watches at work, but I have a similar thing at home for the 2 watches I bring home and keep on rotation for the week So why don’t these wealthy people with big houses not have better security? And this is the UK so unlikely guns were involved. Probably knifes and other weapons. That’s the only thing i can think that overrides security if they knew of his watches and targeted him . |

Whilst I share your wonderment at his having so much valuable stuff apparently just lying around - what was stolen represents about two weeks salary for Mahrez. If my home was burgled the perps could definitely easily get away with stuff worth two weeks of my income. These guys live in a different world.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Strong security can be overcome when thieves have the means to overcome it.
Sorry he was victimized - so were other flatowners and they surely lost valuable pieces of their lives. Criminals hopefully will be caught and convicted but the watches are likely gone for good. Sad situation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

According to one newspaper, he also had £50,000 in cash taken.
I get why someone might want to be a £230,000 watch - but why have so much cash? It’s not as if you can go and buy anything worth £50k using cash... |
