Like a little boy on Christmas morning! All these years, I tell myself, "Ah, this over-engineered hunk of steel!", and as I uttered these very words, I find myself wrestling with awe and denial at the same time

Glad I got that one out of the way!

The Daytona C was the next thing I asked, alas, but no. Even the DSSD itself arrived 2 days ago.

But I do give credit to the composure of the staff when I asked "Do you give a discount on the price?". I'm sure they wanted to burst out laughing, probably rolling around on the floor, but instead, politely smiled and told me the darn thing sells by itself and they don't expect this to stick around more than a week! A quick call to one of the Singapore ADs confirmed this, with their "I can put you on a waitlist".

Yes, great dealer. Took me a few walk in and outs to decide to pull the trigger and fight the denial of how much I lusted after the DSSD, that darn over-engineered hunk of steel!

I'm in Maui right now and literally saw that DSSD in the case a few days ago. Congrats on the purchase. I've got my SD50 on and that's big enough for me! Barron and Leeds in Wailea is a cool place!

Nice pickup, now go out and dive it. Molokini is a nice spot near you, to dive it. Or come over to the Big Island and I will take you on a dive.

I bought two watches from Baron and Leeds over the years at their Shops at Wailea location. Nice people but no real deals to be had there. Have to love the south end of Maui great locations like the Grand Wailea, and the US Polo Beach club. If you can, take the drive to the Surfing Goat Dary farm. Outstanding goat cheese (they sell a fair amount to the Wynn casino). The farm is in the upcountry in Kula. Nice Vodka factory (Ocean Vodka) below ithe farm is as well.
Enjoy your time in Maui.

Thanks for the awesome recommendations on the islands!

Regarding an earlier question on the wrist size, mine is a 6.75" wrist. The key is to not wear it too snug, and give it some slack. Not too different from wearing 47" Panerais. Having a flat wrist profile, such as mine, definitely helps from the top heavy watch head bobbing about.

Two of my favourite things...DSSD and Maui....love 'em both...
Try "Polli's" in Makawao for great Mexican food - and good margaritas.

cheers
