If YG.... I personally think the DD PT and YG are different enough to coexist together in a collection, if you’d like a non-sport model. If not going for the sport model YG, and DD is out, then definitely suggest Patek. If a sport model is on the agenda....hard to beat YG/blue dial sub, YG Skydweller, or Daytona.

I agree the Platinum and YG DD can co-exist without feeling a redundancy in style, due to the character of the fluted bezel. If still not sold on it, the SkyD in all its heft is another viable option which wouldn't disappoint. If it had to be a sports watch, and it were me, like many have suggested, the YG Submariner would be first, followed by the YG GMT with green anniversary dial.

Good luck on making the best choice for you.

Touché. It is a bit of bling. But I love the way it feels!

If you listed your collection it would be easier to find out whats missing. YG sub or gmt are great picks. Determining on your budget but a all YG or RG AP is a nice touch.

Go for a classic 36 mm Day date. A different animal than the platinum.

No YG DD then the only one I'd consider would be the SkyD. Maybe trade the Pt DD for a gold DD and some cash as that would be my choice for a gold watch.

The wiess American field watch in 18k
Gold is us mined and mostly from California
The watchmaker behind wiess watches used to work at ap and vc
Also his 1003 movement is truly American made in house in LA
Handwind open case back

I do not work for wiess but I do like the watches a lot

If it can only be one, I believe the DD40 would be a great choice since you can only get them in precious metals.

I appreciate yellow gold watches and have a Skydweller but as a first, and possibly an only the iconic choice would be a day date. If you prefer sports models, I would say that 116718 might be the front runner- it was my grail for awhile while some would say that the blue dialed sub is the consummate gold rolex because it's a little polarizing while still a staple. The gold GMT with a black dial, whenever I tried it on felt very versatile for a gold watch. For whatever reason, the black dialed gold sub I didn't warm up to.

My collection is full of stainless steel, titanium, platinum, and white gold. I don’t have a single piece in yellow gold (or rose gold for that matter, although I don’t think rose gold works well with my skin tone).

I’ve caught the bug for something in YG. I don’t think I’ll end up having multiple watches in YG though. I’m thinking this would be something to fill a gap in the collection, and for when I want that occasional extra pop of yellow gold.

I got very close to pulling the trigger on a 116718LN with the black dial. Right now, that’s my front runner. Although I just inherited a 16753 (two tone GMT on jubilee), so I thought it might be overkill to have both of those.

If you were to only have one yellow gold watch, what would it be?
I’ll go ahead and rule out a DD, since I have one in platinum, and I just don’t think I want another. And, it doesn’t necessarily have to be Rolex.

Thoughts? Advice?
Share some photos of your collection so we can give you better n more precise recommendations. Eg. 36mm DD PT is VERY different from a DD40 YG
