Day-Date Oysterquartz 19018

Hi guys,
I have seen Day-Date Oysterquartz with horizontal brushing on the watch head and bracelet with polished centre links, circular brushing on the watch head and horizontal brushing on the bracelet with polished centre links and vertical brushing on the watch head and bracelet with polished centre links.
Does anyone know if all these are genuine finishing techniques with variations for different year spans?
The particular watch I am looking at is dated 1980 and has horizontal brushing.
Thanks in advance.
Sam

I have owned an OQ since 1984. Although my 19018 has the concentric brushed finish like my 17013, I think it is incorrect as far as factory finish is concerned. The brushing is supposed to match the outer link bars. I wear mine infrequently and it doesn't bother me at all. Except for twice a year, the time is always right to within a couple of seconds. The quickset day/date are no problem. Rolex dealers always install new batteries and case back seals free of charge.
