Dealers for ladies datejust 70s/80s era?
Hi,
I’m new here and to the Rolex world and was hoping you guys could help point me in the right direction for dealers who may specialize in or have a variety of vintage ladies datejust? Looking for something that’s 26 mm yg on jubilee but having trouble finding much conversation or listings for quality DJ of the 70s/80s era. Bonus newb question - in terms of original case back engravings, is “Original Rolex Design” an accepted one? I’ve seen “Registered Design” quite a bit but came across a listing with the former on there and wanted to confirm with the group that it’s legit. Thanks in advance for your help! |

I'm not very familiar with ladies watches, but the Registered Design to Orig Rolex Design language switched at some point due to a patent expiring in the early 80s IIRC. In men's watches, that engraving is usually between the lugs.
I believe there is a lengthy "sticky" thread with a list of reputable dealers. I don't know which sell ladies watches, but you can start contacting them to ask.

Thanks, Dan. I’ll start there. I wonder if the Original Rolex Design stamp is between the lugs for men and maybe on the case back for ladies watches because they were too small at 26 mm to engrave between lugs at the time?
