Tudor Submariner 79190 B Serial Help

Recently purchased this gorgeous Tudor submariner 79190 from a watch show. Watch has box and punched papers which match the case accordingly. Papers dated 5/97 with serial B93XXXX. I did notice one thing however that concerned me. I’ve never seen another black bezel Tudor sub that had the white gold Lume dial indices. I’ve only seen the steel polished bezel version with these dial indices. Could something have been swapped? Or could this be correct? Thanks in advance. Pics attached

you talking about the lume pip / dot at 12 o clock on the bezel insert?

Without going into checking what version of the insert that is, that looks like the correct acrylic pearl. I think its just a reflection / angle. It should be clear with luminous material within the pearl. No metal surrounding it.

Sorry to be confusing. I was referring to the white gold indices that hold the lume on the dial. With extensive googling I've only seen this dial with the polished steel bezel. I haven't seen this dial with the black bezel.

understood now your question.

hmmm does appear that way. Black bezel / Blue bezel generally with the matte dial not WG.

This is a service dial, not the original dial.

Swapping out insert is common. Based on my initial views on your photos. Your 79190 looks perfectly fine :) the bezel font is correct too for that serial.

Just my personal opinion, Tudor did make this serial with blue, black and polished bezel. While the blue and polished bezel are more commonly seen. The black is correct too. Again just my opinion. Stand to be corrected ..

Hi, very very old thread but hoping the OP might answer.

Did you paper describe this with a black dial too?

As far as I know, Tudor originally released the 79190 with your dial (gold surround) only with a steel bezel in their last run.

I actually really like the configuration and was thinking how I could go about doing the same.

Here's my research so far. I've not found out definitively when the gold surround was added to the dial.

Tudor released the 79190 in 1995 and it came with a black bezel and matte indices.

Then in 1997 changed to polished steel bezel inserts.
