I'm curious as to whether that is an AD or a Grey shop?

I don't think it will ever be as it was then. I do believe that the grey prices will stabilize and stay above MSRP (fo the popular sports models). AD's will keep profiting from this situation for a loooooong time.

Thanks for the photo.
So basically pretty much every hyped (nowadays) SS sports piece was on the window, except for the SS Daytona?
The two Daytona on the photo are two-tone and full gold, correct?

The white gold GMT Pepsi was released in 2014. When the SS Pepsi was released in 2018 they changed the dial on the white gold one from black to blue.

What’s going on with the Pepsi GMT in the back right? Price starts with a 2 and they didn’t offer it in oyster again until fairly recently.

Well, yes, it can be. But it is also possible that eight years from now we will be just as amazed at today's prices and the many models currently available. :)

Those were the days. Walk in, try on a bunch of watches, pick your favorite, offer less than MSRP and see if they want to move it or not.

I remember trying to be talked up to a SD4K when I bought my Pelagos in 2014. I definitely wanted the Pelagos but I'm still kicking myself for not buying both. They were offering the Sea Dweller for less than the Submariner Date sticker price at that time.

The pain. Imagine for a second if we could walk into any AD and buy any Rolex we wanted at list.

Is that heaven?

Forgot about the white gold was around in that era. Lol!

I noticed the pricing was in euros as well. Just in my head already thinking/assuming it was steel it definitely threw me off a bit with the different starting digit.

Price stability??? I thought it was a mandate.

Guess not

Nostalgic.

Thanks for the walk down memory lane.

Was at the Wynn in LV Feb. 2015 and shot some pics. Hope I can find them.

Those were heady days before the brown hit the circular device.

Great post. I’ve often wondered what watches I walked right past before I started this hobby. I got my first in 2015 but didn’t have a thought about them ever being scarce.

I'm betting that this kind of availability related to entirely different levels of desire to buy. The old if I can't have it, I want it more thing is in play now.

That world seems ancient, even though it was only seven years ago. The living is changing day by day, faster and faster. But at this time, it's not an advancing.

I certainly took advantage of those prices and availability back then. Like many here I was buying Rolexes like they were candy, it used to be great fun to be a Rolex collector.

I don’t see Rolex ever returning back to Earth, and that’s okay. There are lots of other watches out there to enjoy.

The days of interest free credit on a Rolex in the UK too. 20% deposit and the balance over 2 years! I bought two professional models on those terms.

Bingo. When almost every model was available every day and you lost money walking out the door most people didn’t want them.
