I would think the Olive dial would be the one. I like both but would go WG and Olive.

I remember when I got the rose olive back in 2017 not many cared for it at all , I have a feeling that this will be more collectable down the road .. it is a ton more flashy though but also a ton more historical "Rolex" if that makes sense

One of my new dream watches — I love my current yellow gold DD40 but this one is by far my favorite— cannot wait to hopefully someday get it

One thing for sure its not subtle and it is very much green I remember getting the same reaction when I saw the anniversary GMT back in 05 , but then again it is the same combo

Beautiful reference!

I’m planning on adding this YG DD40 w/ green dial to my collection. My AD is working on the platinum (228236) first though.

In regards to the your question, I personally prefer the RG olive, just because the dial has much more depth due to the sunburst finish. I feel the green dial on the YG DD40 lacks this in comparison with its satin/semi-gloss nature.

we are starting to get some more in our side (green/yellow) since the show few months back I was surprised that this one didnt create the buzz that I thought it would .. to my eyes it has future classic written all over it right from the get ... but I guess the vast majority don't see it that way and that was awesome because it would make it easier to get it and that what ended up happening .

Buy what you like. Don’t be concerned with what the rest of the herd is doing.

Got to see IRL both of the models you are referring to, OP.

I like the olive dial because is sunburst, but at the same time i like more the shade of green of the yg model - and have to mention this is not a matte dial, as i've read from someone's post on here.

The RG model is too rose for my liking under some lighting conditions, so overall i think i find the yg green dial nicer.

The new yg green model looks so much better irl than anything i've seen online, as i could assess from the photos i took today while picking up my Submariner from service.
