New Submersible models

What do you guys think? I love them but the p.900 movement for that price point is a little steep, in my opinion. I wonder if they used that movement to keep the watches thinner? Anyways glad to see 44mm Submersibles back!!

I like them, but I just picked up a 973 (for the second time, after missing the one I sold), shortly after picking up a 1271 and 519, so not looking to add any more at the moment. Glad some 44mm variety is in the lineup though.

I really dig the eSteel versions’ colorways, particularly the blue one, but at $11k+, unlikely to be a buyer.

Cool watches from my perspective.

I sat down with the boutique director and looked at what is coming down the pipeline this year outside of what has been announced at W&W this week. They do have some submersibles that have a cool experience event tied to them. I saw 2 different special forces editions that were tempting. I do like the fact that they will be rolling out some of the submersibles with ceramic dials. It’s a nice attempt to court some of the people out there want a Submariner that don’t have one.

Thing that’s bugging me about the green is the strap and crown area a different shade of green to the bezel and dial! Why would they not make it all a similar colour, like the blue one.
Still making my mind up about the gradiated dial- will need to see in person.

Also kinda wish they’d get rid of the ‘e-steel’ on the dial. Maybe just put it on the back or something.

They seem to do this regularly. The blue bezel 42 submersibles all have a light blue font on dial and then dark blue bezel/strap. Could they seriously not introduce another color for the dial to match?

I can't stop thinking about the grey dial version. There's something very cool about it. And I think 44mm is really the perfect size. 42mm felt a bit small to me and I always felt self conscious wearing the 47mm versions.

Also note that the p.900 has the advantage of allowing the watch to be less thick. I personally prefer a thinner watch. 44mm works for me but when the watch is too thick, it's just more top heavy and harder to live with. I have a Cartier Santos, which is actually quite large, but the thinness of the case makes it super easy to live with. So...I'm good with the P.900 movement. It's almost identical to the movement Cartier uses in many other their watches, 3-day power reserve is pretty darn good (better than my early generation Rolex Batman) and is pretty reliable.
