Two of my favorite diver watches

Yeah... you can basically buy 5 Breitling Steelfishes now for one Sea-Dweller or Submariner.

Is it five times less of a watch? Definitely not.

Here's a small article of both of them and some of my thoughts.

The Sea Dweller looks like the son of the Breitling, although I clearly prefer the Sea Dweller, and even more being a 5 digit (16600).

I enjoyed reading that — nice personal writeup with cool photos.

I like what you wrote about value (resale value and personal enjoyment), and about having one big “macho” watch in a collection.

Man that Breitling looks great up close.

Interesting.
However, I am partial to Rolex Submariners having started with an original 1969 Red 1680 Submariner.
The ETA 2824 Elabore Swiss movement of the Breitling- is also found in the Steinhart Ocean Explorer 39.
It is a limited-issue homage watch closely resembling the Explorer dial Rolex 5513
of the 60s-70s.
A gilt-dialed Rolex 5512 or 5513 Submariner from the 1960s is the epitome of
tool watch cool from the era. Just tool cool.......
