Sub help!

I could use some help on next submersible purchase. I have recently bought the PAM1209 and absolutely love it! I still have an itch for a more traditional sub though, with the 12 and 6 numerals on the dial. I have looked at every single iteration (243,24,25,87,1024,305, etc.) I am certain that I want a 44mm so the 305 is out. I am also certain I want a comfortable watch for all day wear so the 243 is out. I really prefer a titanium option because of the way the material patinas over time (very cool feature to me). I do not care for the waffle dial on the 25 so it is out.

I have large wrist as I am a big guy (6'3" 230 lbs)

So I am down to 24, 1024 or 87

I think at this point I have done too much research and my brain is mush. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Have you ever tried a 47mm Sub on?
47mm Luminors are too big for me but i found a 47mm sub fits better than the size would suggest

I think you will be very happy with the 24. That was my very first Panerai and one that I always sort of still want back in the collection. It has the perfect finish on the case and bezel with just the right amount bling. My vote is the 24.

I used to be the same way with 44mm vs 47mm. Then I bought a 1305. The 47mm divers don't wear large at all. The 1305 isn't tall from top to bottom either. I wouldn't rule out a 305, 1305 or 1389 until you tried one on. They're super light and have a flat case back which makes them very comfortable. Being that you're 6'3", a 47mm would look right at home on your wrist

So I have had the 243, 305, 25. When I got the 979 carbotech I sold all others except the 25. It’s a real keeper. I hear you about the waffle dial but I think that dial might grow on you and i cannot say enough good things about the 25.

Really appreciate the responses. The main reason the 1305 is on the outskirts for me is I want the 12 and 6 on the dial. But it does keep bringing me back in for some reason.....

I don't want to sway you away from getting the models you've asked to get feedback for. But the modern subs have made some really good changes from the prior generation. From case dimensions, movements, bezel action, steel alloys, dials and more. I feel the modern sub is the best of both worlds. You still have that sub heritage but in a modern rendition. I think you should enjoy your sub and add maybe a non-sub for some variety. Or maybe a modern sub but in another material. Hope this helps

As stated, you really should be looking at 47 mm subs. You can easily pull it off and it opens up so many options. 44's are limited... They're making a bunch this year, but yet to be released....

Subs wear much smaller than traditional 47 mm Luminors....
