Selling on Chrono24

Has anyone had experience with selling your watches on Chrono24? I’m looking at getting rid of a couple of pieces to make room for another so I’m looking at my options. Of course I can sell straight to a dealer but was wondering if it’s better to sell privately through Chrono24 or another platform so that I can keep more of the profit. Any hassles or headaches that I may need to be aware of?

Many experiences both buying and selling on C24.
The biggest upside of selling through them is their use of an escrow system - an extra level of financial security that you can't get with eBay.
6.5% total selling fee of the sale price, but worth it.

I suspect that Chrono24 may be issuing 1099-K's so you may want to keep good records on your basis (cost) to reduce the taxable gain on your sale.

I have listed watches on Chrono, but never had luck with them selling. I prefer TRF and some facebook groups.

What brand watches were you attempting to sell? Were they highly desirable watches?

Chrono keeps the funds in escrow but what if an ill intended buyer decides to return the watch or another watch or just an empty package.
Than the platform sides with the buyer …

I would take my loss with a straight forward dealer, zero risk

I sell quite a bit on there, traffic around 20k views a month. If you'd like to know more, pm me your number, and I'd by happy to have a call to discuss.
