Cash or Credit
How do you guys/gals buy your watches? I am sure some of you who buy alot of watches may use both from time to time, but generally speaking which do you use for your major watch purchases.

Credit card for 0% interest for 12 months. If the AD gave a bigger discount for cash, I would pay that way, but since they don't - credit card it is.

I usually pay cash but now I'm trying to build up my Disney dollars.
This way I get a new watch and the kids can buy some Mickey Mouse ears. |

Cash b/c of discount. My AD gives a small cash discount. More than credit card points.

Yeah I do that too. The points are awesome. I make like 60-90 bucks a month on points. Awesome. 5% on gas, groceries, drug stores (walgreens) and select restaurants. 1% on everything else.
Right now I only have 1 bill a month. CC. Everything goes there. In a couple months though, I will have to set up an auto payment for my car. Ugh.

I use Credit Cards, which I pay off monthly.
Note that if you are the victim of fraud or some other malfeasance, you can dispute the charge with your CC company. Often times, you can even dispute it before they have actually paid for the item. Because of this, use of the CC gives you a safety net against fraudulent sales and defective products. There is value in this fact, and it should not be discounted. |

Using a CC and paying it off every month is more like cash then credit.

The AD refused to give me any discount whatever way I paid, so I used my credit card.

My AD offered the same discount for cash or credit card. So, I took the latter and the 0% interest, too. Will pay it off completely when that expires. I always opt for the lowest NPV.

Would never buy a watch on credit. I pay with my VISA which is connected to my account and I make sure that I have an adequate amount on it before I pay. If you can't pay for it right away, you should not buy it. Debt is a curse. If you plan to pay something off, you should save up instead. It's cheaper and whatever you are planning to buy really belongs to you the same second you get the receipt. My philosophy.
