Congrats! Beautiful pair. Those are classics for a reason, they earned it!

You say you hope you can keep them. I hope that for you also, but the AD sort of guaranteed that, at least until he deems you worthy of the warranty card you paid for already - such a ridiculous policy (my AD doesn’t do that nonsense).

I too have both

I, too, have both the Sub-C no date and a classic Speedmaster moon watch (which I wear with a black strap). Great combination. You couldn't do much better if two were all you can have. But then again, three... or four...

A little story, a new watch and some pictures

Beautiful!

Congratulations!

I’m wearing mine as a type this. My favorite.

Sub, Speedy, now all you need is a nice dress watch, and you’re done.

Excellent! I enjoyed reading about your experience. I'm glad to hear how happy you are with your Submariner. It makes a great stablemate to the Speedmaster Professional, to be sure.

Like you, I spend each day with one of these two wonderful watches

Thank you for sharing the journey, and congratulations on acquiring your first Rolex. The (1)14060 is a very special watch, and your story and photos have made me look forward to receiving mine even more! I owned the 14060 for 10 years, sold it a year ago, and am now replacing it with the ceramic model. Initially, the maxi-case and its substantial lugs did not appeal to me, but I now prefer the six-digit Submariner to any five-digit model. Articles like this one by Bernhard of the 100PERCENT-Rolex blog has made me see the connection and similarities between the 114060's latest form and its vintage designs from the 50s and 60s.

Loved your story and while you say others have written better, more complete reviews, nothing competes — at least in my book — with the experiences of passionate new owners. Your review and wonderful pictures add to the lore of this iconic watch.

Congrats, and enjoy!

Same company and two different policies I find that strange, so the BLNR went in the window and the sub was held back

2 great pieces......and nice to see the MB too.
Have a 149 on my desk at work. To cut to the chase, get MRCGP and move South to NZ as we need GPs here!!! Best thing I ever did was leave the UK 11 years ago (was a GP in Devon and know Exeter very well).
Good luck with the training. If you do ever think of a relocation, a simple PM will suffice.
Sourcing Rolex from ADs has been way easier than the UK too!!
I do still struggle with the BBQ concept on Christmas Day but I'm coping with that.
