INCOMING! my thirst is quenched

I've been trying to get my hands on one of these for several month now. Well finally my AD emailed over this past weekend and said they had unexpectedly gotten a Tudor GMT in stock. Only issue was it was on leather as opposed to the bracelet I originally asked for.

I really had no interest in getting this watch on leather UNTIL I TRIED IT ON yesterday evening. After seeing this baby on my wrist my opinion of leather bands completely changed. Not only did I surprisingly love the look, but I was blown away by the light weight and comfort. The deployant clasp is fantastic as well.

My wife was with me and she totally dug the look of the leather band and pointed out that this is a nice contract to my two Rolexes, both of which reside on steel. My intent all along was to make this my primary travel watch and non-Rolex watch (watch to wear in places I would rather not wear a Rolex for various reasons). This seems to tick all the right boxes for me.

The 41mm diameter to me anyway is THE perfect size for a sports watch. I also prefer chunkier watches in the sport category so the thickness is no issue for me. One thing I didn't notice is a nice detail they added to the case. They beveled the bottom of the case where it meets the wrist on the sides which makes it actually show a slimmer profile from the sides vs the ETA models. Strange how a thicker watch wears slightly slimmer, to my eyes anyway. I had a 16710 Coke which I really liked but wore too small on me. Always wanted a thicker, heavier, and slightly larger version and Tudor nailed it.

Anyway, here go some pics for you. I may or may not pick up a steel bracelet down the road. Gonna give the leather some extended wrist time and reconsider. Very happy to finally acquire this piece. Tudor has thoroughly impressed me over the last year or two.

Awesome. Well done. It’s a great watch and FWIW I like it on leather the most.

Looks good on your wrist. Seems like the second strap keeper is unneeded and could be removed.

My Everest fits the same way (large wrist). It bugs me a little, but not enough to remove it, yet anyway...

Thanks for the compliment

Congrats and wear it in good health! Funny how actually trying a watch on can change one's perception positively or negatively. The same thing happened to me when I tried on the LVc and numerous other watches over the years.

Agree. It's weird how the leather strap looks different in person vs the photos. The color always seems a lighter shade in photos than it does on the wrist. And obviously photos don't give any indication on how it feels, either physically or emotionally. There's sort of a soothing factor you get with a strap that is much different than a steel bracelet. Just a wholly different personality...

That’s actually growing on me too. My GMT was on the fabric strap when I purchased it in October and I did order the SS bracelet which I’m still waiting for. I’m considering cancelling that and opting for the leather as a second alternative instead and then adding a RubberB because I could switch out the deployant that comes with the leather strap. I have plenty of watches on SS bracelets and would like the change. Looks really good; congratulations!

Really like the leather it’s a great look. I bought my BB blue with a leather strap as well and have never regretted it. Tudor quality as you said is outstanding as well. Congratulations

Looks nice...but please refer to the leather as a strap, not a band
Enjoy the watch, classic look
