Back in 1978
Does anyone have an idea what the original retail price may have been for the 1680 Sub? I'm doing a presentation at work, discussing appreciation of value over time and wanted to use this as an example.

In April of 1980 I bought a 1680 at Sweeny's Jewelers in Houston, Tx. The list price was $1050 on Oyster Bracelet, $50 less on the riveted "American" bracelet and they were offering 15% discounts on all SS Rolexes. That's as close as I can get.

Were the Tudor Subs typically priced at 50% of Rolex Subs?
