That's true and I am getting one in 2 weeks most probably... but still whenever I get closer to picking it up I get all sorts of feelings about getting a BLRO or Daytona SS but given they are all going for premium ... makes me want to wait....

Is the only reason your not going through with the purchase the fact that you don't think it's very popular?

That's crazy!

If you like it, that's all that matters - screw what anyone else thinks!

That was my grail watch... and in 2015 I nearly bought it vacationing in London... again the day came to pick it up I just couldn't pull the trigger... Needless to say wasted that money on extra holiday budget... Now I dont wear gold so going for a SS...

Personally, I don’t find it particularly pleasing on the eye or easy to read.

For me it’s a no, but many love it
Do you guys think the price is also bit on higher side compared to the other sports models?

It's only the same size as the Deep Sea and that has near cult status on this forum (especially the JC version) so I don't think that has anything to do with how popular/unpopular the YM is.

As others have said, it's a niche watch that only really appeals to a small percentage of Rolex owners - but hey, if your in that niche & it appeals to you, what are you waiting for..?

Looking forward to the incoming..!

I personal love the YMII. I think the price is a bit to high for me. I’d rather use that money towards something else (PM Model)

I’m confused....if you like it, you should be glad it is easily available.
I personally really like the YM II. There are others I like better and I have not owned one yet, but I would wear one for sure! Be glad that what you like is easy to find! Don’t be a sheep....who cares what others think?

I think it is on the high side. I rather have the skydweller which has a more useful complication.

As if anybody buys Rolex for its complications, subtlety, usability, wearability ... ???

C’mon, most populi buying Rolex can hardly afford an entry level model thus the hype for the ss ones.

YM II looks exactly the way it should and suits targeted clientele. Not the “SS” masses.

I think it’s a very fun watch to own.

However, on the principal of paying what a watch is worth to you, it’s not worth the ~USD17k to me... I was happy to pick one up lightly used at a good discount to this amount , though that was a lesson in not browsing the For Sale section on the way home from a night of drinking - https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=572144)

It's expensive. If I pay that level coin, I want to use the features (or at least relate to them). I will never time a regatta, nor participate in one. If you buy this watch for its intended purpose, then perfect. Otherwise it's only for looks.

I don't think I'd ever want to add it to my collection. For the right person, could be a neat watch to have though. Just not for me.

It is too difficult to use and see time as well as the unbalanced dial. YM2 the Ugly.

The most subtle Yachmaster II (how is that for an oxymoron?) is the WG version methinks. The comments about clownishness usually revolve around the blue bezel and this WG one doesn’t scream at you.

The blue hands and blue-framed arcing countdown scale come out to meet the eye in a subdued manner.

Now, if you want all the attention of the other versions...
The only thing missing is an alarm as you reach the final 5 seconds of the countdown - wouldn’t a chiming tune of Ochi Chërnye be perfect?

The prominent name emblazoned on it -- just like a yacht would! Even the name itself is much in the spirit of how a yacht would be named. So meta and tongue-in-cheek, I love that aspect of it!

Big baller watch that doesn't take itself too seriously but has a beautifully executed complication, love it. Tempted to get the current gen WG if I find a good used deal.

Have to respectfully disagree. The timing bezel on dive watches is why I'm such a big fan. The function is very useful and I use it often.

I have no idea how to use the YII function.

Not my cup of tea. One of the loudest Rolexes there is. It's giant, has the loud "YACHT MASTER II" text on the bezel and an impractical complication. Not surprising that it's a pretty niche watch.

I bought the ss one because it will likely be discontinued and price will go up. Besides it is a complicated watch!
