An Egghead's BBQ Exploration
Just put a pork butt on the BGE. The cicadas, katydids, and crickets are really going at it tonight, and of course that good old humidity hug is always there to greet you anytime you venture outside. It's a lot of fun "exploring" outside on a summer night in the south!

This little 8 pounder should be ready to pull and eat tomorrow after church for Sunday lunch. I've got my BBQ Guru hooked up to manage the cook for me tonight so I can get my rest!

I haven't done any wings in a long time, but they do turn out good.

The pork finished up around 8:30 this morning. This was the first time I raised the lid on the Egg since the butt went on at around 10 PM Saturday night. It looked pretty dang good, and had a descent bark.

I switched to my SD4K this morning prior to diving into this delicious pork butt. I pulled and served it around 1 PM this afternoon. As usual the Egg did not disappoint, and everyone seemed to have a nice lunch. The leftover pork will find its way into a brunswick stew on Monday night!

Boston butt or pork butt is the American name for a cut of pork that comes from the upper part of the shoulder from the front leg and may contain the blade bone. Boston butt is the most common cut used for pulled pork, a staple of barbecue in the southern United States.

Depends on what you want to cook with it. The Large seems to be a sweet spot for a lot of people. We started out with a large 20 plus years ago along with a Medium. Ending up giving the Medium to a buddy and buying another Large.
Having two lets us do meat, fish, veggies, ect.. at the same time. There are a lot of accessories to enhance your cooking and cooking capacity. Creramic Grill Store makes some great products for the Egg. Their Adjustable Rig in a must have for many of us. https://ceramicgrillstore.com The Egghead Forum is a great place to learn about using the Egg and honing your skills. http://eggheadforum.com/categories/egghead-forum
